Shocking rise in cat to rture videos in China
Here at WAV over the past 18 months or so, Diana and myself (Mark) have undertaken a lot of manpower associated with this specific issue.
With over 70 years investigative animal cruelty experience between us, you do not get shocked any more by what you see. But this has appalled and shocked both of us through research. For example: China: Cat Torture .. And Once Again … This is Why. Kitten Impaled With Toothpicks. – World Animals Voice

As well as being beyond words when it comes to cruelty, these abusers operate via the dark web. This means that they are experienced in computers, and how they encourage their sick followers to become involved.
Has WAV been targeted ? – for sure. Despite very good ‘anti’ controls, we were hit and closed down as a site for around 2 weeks. In the end we resolved it, but there was a lot of head scratching during that fortnight.
We could have given up on this, but you know, these actions only give you more incentive to continue.
So here we are; March 2026 and nothing has changed regarding the Chinese implementing animal welfare legislation. The abuses you see here are allowed to continue because of lack of action by the government.
They continue to ignore us; we continue to campaign and expose the terrible cruelty.
Regards Mark and Diana.

We won’t shy away from showing these, but the images below show the norm in China; they ARE NOT ONE OFFS.
This first article below is the main one. It informs you in detail about the current situation.
These posts relate to animal welfare in China; or basically the complete lack of:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_welfare_and_rights_in_China
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_welfare_and_rights_in_China
All of this does not suprise anyone like us in global animal welfare at all. We have been campaigning to deaf ears in China for decades.

As a nation very large in both landmass, population, and their potential exports, you would thus think that it would lead the way, joining the EU in setting a lot of animal welfare legislation. WRONG – there is NO legislation.
