Rather than paying for killing, why not invest the money in long term solutions to actually reduce numbers in the first place ? – a no kill trap, neuter and release scheme could be a potential solution.

All the time authorities do not approach this sensibly, stray animals will continue to reproduce, thus increasing populations, not reducing. This is the ‘oh so normal’ response to sporting fixtures like this. They think mass murder works, but it does not. Only a no kill, trap, NEUTER and return policy reduces numbers long term. Lets see football investing its vast financial reserves into something other than vast players salaries – Mark.

Four Paws Ups Focus On Consumer Labelling On Mulesing.

Mulesing causes terrible suffering to live lambs. Large chunks of flesh are hacked away from the animal anal region to try and control what is known as ‘fly strike’. Performed without the use of analgesics, the animals are restrained whilst shear like tools literally remove by cutting off chunks of flesh from around the anus.

England – Robert Plant – ‘Kashmir’ To ‘Cashmere’ ?

Any Englishman, like me, of an older age, fondly remembers the days of Led Zeppelin and their frontman Robert Plant. In a clever twist, ‘Planty’, who I follow greatly, has been asked by Peta UK to rename the Led Zepp classic ‘Kashmir’ into ‘Cashmere’ to celebrate Plant Wool Month which lasts throughout November.
