An excellent site from friends in Germany – everything you need to know.
Wolf in hunting law – the next step towards killing frenzy: Great times of hypocrisy
The following article is German, but I hope the system will automatically translate into English,- Mark.
Compare this to the post yesterday. Italy – Great Story – Wolves ARE Protected In Italy. Watch The Video Of A Wolf Being Saved By Local Firefighters – Congrats To All Involved. – World Animals Voice Italy is a neighbour of Germany. Wolves PROTECTED in Italy whilst Germany goes the opposite way. But then the German hunting lobby has always gone for a kill, kill approach to everything where animals are concerned. They love killing and have an utter ‘blood lust’.
Here are a few snippets from my old Serbian stray animal site which also covered issues such as this.
An example, ‘Fox Week’, Germany, where thousands of immaculate foxes are murdered for fun by sadistic, callous hunters – German fox weeks: organized crime against foxes! | Serbian Animals Voice (SAV)
Fox weeks in “civilized” Germany!! | Serbian Animals Voice (SAV)

Like here in the UK, when it comes to hunting, you are either pro, or anti, like we are ant 110 anti.
Germany has a massive PRO Hunt lobby. Antis are very much a minority.
Talking with German activist friends as is done regularly, they are fully aware of the massive pro hunt campaigners they are up against.
It is a very difficult thing to be a German Animal Welfare / Rights campaigner.

We won’t shy away from showing these, but the images below show the norm in China; they ARE NOT ONE OFFS.
This first article below is the main one. It informs you in detail about the current situation.
These posts relate to animal welfare in China; or basically the complete lack of:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_welfare_and_rights_in_China
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_welfare_and_rights_in_China
All of this does not suprise anyone like us in global animal welfare at all. We have been campaigning to deaf ears in China for decades.

As a nation very large in both landmass, population, and their potential exports, you would thus think that it would lead the way, joining the EU in setting a lot of animal welfare legislation. WRONG – there is NO legislation.

This year 2026, Iditarod begins on March 7th. Here is the link to all the post we have covered on this particular topic; pleas browse at your leisure. The record time to complete the race is in excess of 8 days; but it has been known to take up to 15.
WAV LINK – https://worldanimalsvoice.com/?s=iditarod
Many of the dogs suffer terribly in the harsh, severe Alaskan environment. They are forced to pull the mushers sled in temperatures which can reach (minus) -100 degrees F when the sub zero temperatures and windchill combine.
This is without any doubt, the harshest and toughest race for any dog to withstand. In 2022, approximately 250 dogs were withdrawn during the race as a result of exhaustion, illness and injury = see https://worldanimalsvoice.com/2022/03/22/usa-iditarod-2022-is-now-over-almost-250-dogs-pulled-off-the-event-this-year-because-of-exhaustion-illness-and-injury-take-action/
We at WAV consider that no dogs should be forced to endure these conditions just for the prize of winning a race!

Many of us in welfare have known about, and campaigned against Iditarod for many years. A great deal of good folk may have never even heard of the Alaskan Iditarod Race. So hopefully now, you are aware and will join with us and millions of other folk in fighting to get this stopped.
Unfortunately, Iditarod is sponsored by many big companies – see the graphic below.
Peta, the worldwide animal welfare organisation always cover this race every year on their site. You can read a lot more about it at https://www.bing.com/search?q=Peta+iditarod&cvid=c69aebed4ac7436fbe66253e350f6960&gs_lcrp=EgRlZGdlKgYIABBFGDkyBggAEEUYOTIGCAEQRRg80gEJMTc2NDlqMGo0qAIIsAIB&FORM=ANAB01&PC=DCTS
I hope you have found this interesting, and informative. Welcome to Iditarod, where dogs are literally raced to death.
