Training facilities with foxes: killing and torturing are fetishes of the German hunters.

Hunting dogs are trained and tested on live foxes for construction hunts in training facilities.
For the foxes who are abused for this, this means a sad life in the oppressive confines of a barren enclosure on the edge of the minimum legal requirements.

And it means a life in constant fear of the next use as an exercise object.
Because the fox cannot know that physical contact between him and the aggressive hunting dog is forbidden in training facilities and should be prevented by sliders in the artificial tunnel system. He suffers from stress and fear of death again and again.

The dogs should learn to be able to chase after the foxes through the corridors of the fox den.
For this purpose, an artificial structure with several corridors made of concrete tubes or slabs is built, which meet and converge again and again in different places.

The hunter decides how far the fox can flee and whether the dog should reach him or not using the slider, lid, and grille.
A fox is driven into the tube.
Follow the dog.
In contrast to the real own foxhole, the fox does not know its way around these corridors.

If the dog has caught the fox safely, the hunter watches with amusement as the dog tears the fox to pieces.
If the fox succeeds in repelling the dog or if there is even a risk of injury to the dog, the hunter will of course help his dog to kill the fox.

This is the training facility with living objects, with foxes

This cruel type of exploitation is being practiced particularly frequently again these days.

Whaling in Norway – hunters refer to the Vikings!!

While diplomats and the media focus primarily on Japan’s whaling, Norway’s whaling has been on the upswing for years-long neglected.
In the Scandinavian country, requirements for whaling were systematically removed and an unauthorized catch quota was released.
In addition, the demand for whale meat in their own country has been pushed by the state – and exports to Japan have increased dramatically since 2016.

The whalers always like to refer to their roots back to the Vikings (!!!) – even though Norway is one of the most modern and prosperous countries in the world.

The world is silent – Norway continues to kill whales

Although Norway is gradually expanding whaling – the arbitrary quotas have been repeatedly increased by the government (see Fig. 1), in the medium term even 2,000 whales are targeted – the world public has remained astonishingly silent on this so far!

Fig. 1: Whaling in Norway: Approved quotas (blue) & animals actually killed (red) (as of March 2021)

And this despite the fact that the northern European country uses its own calculation model to calculate fishing quotas that have not been approved by the International Whaling Commission (IWC).
In the spring of 2017 it was also announced that an alarmingly large proportion of the whales killed in Norway are female, the vast majority of them pregnant.
This means that doubts about the sustainability of the unauthorized fishing quotas set by Oslo are more than justified.

Exports of meat for whaling to Japan

In 2014, the country started exporting whale meat to Japan. Within a short period of time, these have escalated from 82 tons (in 2014) to over 197 tons in 2016 and have remained at a high level since then (see Figure 2).

Fig. 2: Development of whale meat exports from Norway (as of March 2021)

In just five years Norway has exported more than 1.1 million kilograms of whale meat, 98.5 percent of which went to Japan.
Since Japan suffered a severe setback at the International Court of Justice because of its whaling in 2014 and significantly reduced the number of catches, Norway wants to fill this gap.

Norway

The IWC, whose moratorium is brazenly undermined by Norway, has not passed a single resolution against commercial whaling since 2001.
It is precisely this silence that Norway regards as silent acceptance.

What is “Pro Wildlife” doing?

We continue to work on increasing the pressure on Norway.
Our goal is to reach the long-overdue resolution at the IWC conference as soon as possible.
To this end, we inform political decision-makers at an early stage about the latest developments in Norway via >> briefings.

Our report “Frozen in Time” in 2016 revealed for the first time the package of control measures the Norwegian government used to appease the IWC – and how little is left of these promises.
We, therefore, call on the European Union that Norway’s whaling is no longer accepted and that it is finally given a resolution.

Our report already had an impact at the 2016 whaling conference, where the EU voiced clear criticism of Norway for the first time in many years and called for an end to whale hunting and exports.
This was supported by some other countries.

At the next IWC conference in September 2021, we will fight again to ensure that Norway’s whaling is no longer accepted.

https://www.prowildlife.de/hintergrund/norwegen-walfangland-nummer-eins/

And I mean…On the one hand the lax politics of IWC, on the other hand, its twin sister the EU Commission, which goes as far as criticism and never to punishment, enables murderers to continue the massacre of the whales.

And oh! this grueling tradition of the Viking nostalgics …
People who have had to eat human flesh in order to survive will therefore not hold on to it.
Appeared as an insane motivation too.

Traditions such as slavery, forced marriage, stoning, and human sacrifice have been abandoned by people. It was definitely a tough transition, but the “problems” were definitely worth it.

It’s good that today’s human animals have a conscience, a big brain, empathy, and decision-making ability to abolish traditions that are a construct of the greedy powerful and not of justice and compassion …

Snake slaughter Festival in Texas: a spectacle for psychopaths

We all know what a rattlesnake’s “rattle” means — run.

Whether you learned about it from TV or movies, or from real-life experience, you know that this rattle is the precursor to a strike.
But of course, like all wild animals, rattlesnakes lash out at people out of fear — if you leave them alone, they’ll do you the same kindness, and you’ll both be a lot less afraid.

Following this line of thought, a rattlesnake’s “rattle” is really the closest thing it has to a scream.
And at this bloody event in Sweetwater, Texas, the screams are ear-splitting.

Sign the petition imploring the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to cancel the yearly Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup!

This horrific event, which has been going on for over 60 years, is utterly gruesome from start to finish.
First, rattlesnake hunters flush poor, solitary snakes out of their dens by pouring gasoline into them, forcing them to flee or suffocate.
Gassing obviously takes its toll on the snakes, their first of many traumas to come, but it also poisons the land and nearby plants and wildlife. It’s such an environmental hazard that it’s been totally banned in 29 U.S. states.

UK: ‘The Last Blast’. UK Government To Consult on the Use of Lead Shot In Hunting – the Biggest Change for Over 500 Years. A Significant Step Forward in Helping to Protect Wildlife, People and the Environment.

Biggest shake-up in 500 years for game shooting as ban looms on 'toxic' lead shot | Daily Mail Online

The last blast – Biggest shake-up in 500 years for game shooting as ban looms on ‘toxic’ ammunition.

  • The pellets inside shotgun cartridges are toxic for animals, nature activists say
  • Lead ammunition has been used to shoot birds in the UK since the 1500s
  • Shooting organisations say the ban could take eight years to come into force

It’s the biggest shake up for the British hunters in over 500 years as the British government now considers a ban on the use of lead shot.

Lead pellets are inside of the cartridges used in shotguns.  They are toxic and can be fatal if they are eaten by other birds, animals and all wildlife.

Under consultation is the phasing out of lead ammunition across all environments in England, Scotland and Wales.  But shooting organisations are also saying that the ban could take up to 8 years before it comes into force.  It is expected that some in the shooting fraternity are not happy and have become quite reactionary.

Tim Bonner of the Countryside Alliance; the main pro hunt organisation in the UK, has declared that the phase out can be done on their time scale, or it will be imposed on them.  He also accepted that there are now alternatives to lead shot.

The UK government has requested an official review of the evidence; followed by a public consultation to aim at a proposed ban on the ammunition.

Environment Minister Rebecca Pow has stated that addressing the impacts of lead ammunition will mark a significant step forward in helping to protect wildlife, people and the environment.

Officials pointed to research by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust which shows that between 50,000 and 100,000 wildfowl die each year after ingesting lead from spent pellets which they mistake for food. Mr Bonner stated that such estimates were ‘a bit on the high side’; but then as a shooter and huntsman, he would.

The EU is expected to ban imports of game shot with lead – a major concern because around 60 per cent of British game is exported to Europe. Fears have been expressed by manufacturers as to whether they will be able to meet demand for new types of ammunition.

Last year several leading cartridge makers said that they thought that developing ‘high performance ammunition’ without lead in a short time frame, ‘without significant support’ from the Government, would be impossible.

Jonathan Young, editor of countryside sports magazine The Field, has voiced his doubts about the ability of steel pellets to kill game ‘efficiently and cleanly’.

But Dr Julia Newth of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust said: ‘Conservationists, shooting organisations and game meat retailers have recognised the toxic risks from lead ammunition.’

France: The European Court of Justice bans the murderous – “glue traps”!

March 17, 2021 – Report from the Committee against Bird Murder e.V.

Milestone for the protection of migratory birds – European Court of Justice finally bans “glue traps” in France!

After years of negotiations, the European Court of Justice (EuGH) in Luxembourg ruled today that the use of “glue traps” to catch thrushes in Provence violates the EU’s Birds Directive.
The guideline has forbidden bird trapping since 1979, but permits to “preserve tradition”.

Countries such as France and Malta make extensive use of this option and to this day allow their hunters to catch birds using methods that have long been banned across Europe.

The judges ruled today that this licensing practice is incompatible with European law.

The decisive factor was that even protected bird species were accidentally caught in glue-branches and were injured to such an extent that they could no longer be released.

The ruling is therefore groundbreaking for the numerous other exemptions in France, but also a strong signal to other EU member states that allow bird trapping again and again.
The procedure was only made possible by the cooperation of the Committee against Bird Murder with its French partner LPO France.

We had documented the fishing practice on-site in detail and left all the results and the images we created to the LPO, which ensured that France ended up in court with great lobbying work.

Today is really a good day for the migratory birds!

https://www.facebook.com/Komitee.CABS/

And I mean…In the past,  hunting with glue traps was used across France to catch and eat songbirds.
Hence the sticky mass trick. So the birds can catch without injuring their bodies.

In the meantime, however, this hunting has become more of a grueling sport, where the question is who catches the most blackbirds or other thrushes.

In the south of France, for example, the ortolan is still considered a delicacy in some regions.
An estimated 30,000 Ortolans are caught in France each year.

In some places in the south of France, hunting is probably tolerated by the police. And small fines of around 80 to 100 euros are hardly a deterrent if an Ortolan brings up to 300 euros on the black market.

Ortolan

Songbirds are not only hunted in France, but also in Italy and Cyprus. In Italy, mountain finches and chaffinches are considered delicacies.
More than 800,000 registered hunters target them every year.

Hunting songbirds is particularly criminal because many species are critically endangered and in need of protection.

A Life without birdsong would be a wasteland, but so are feeling only people who have morals and empathy, and therefore want to hear the songbirds and not eat them.

Kenya: Murderers eliminate the last white giraffe

The only white giraffe has been killed by poachers, according to conservationists in Kenya, who explained that after the death of its mother and sister at the hands of other hunters, this last specimen carried a GPS, according to the Diario de Sevilla.

It inhabited the Ishaqbini Hirola Reserve, a wild conservation area in southeastern Kenya on the edge of the Tana River, home to hundreds of birds, mammals, and the famous Hunter’s antelope, a critically endangered species.

In 2016, the reserve became a popular tourist destination due to the discovery of three specimens of white giraffes (a female and her two calves).

In March 2020, the mother and one of the babies were murdered;

Local residents found their skeletons months later on the reservation. Its striking color is due to leucism, a genetic condition that alters the production of melanin and therefore causes the pigmentation of the skin to acquire a white tone.

Unlike albinism, leucism does not cause sensitivity to sunlight, nor does it cause a change in eye color.

This family of giraffes was first seen in Garissa County and made a huge splash worldwide for its beauty and uniqueness. This is precisely why the Kenya Wildlife Service began investigating the disappearance after the animals were not seen for several weeks.

“This is a very sad day for the Ijara community (reserve area) and for all of Kenya,” said Mohammed Ahmednoor, manager of this reserve. “We are the only community in the world that guarded white giraffes,” said the manager.

(Giraffa camelopardalis), albino. |

Ahmednoor described the killing of the giraffes as “a blow to the important steps taken by the community to conserve rare and unique species and a wake-up call to continue supporting conservation efforts.”

The boundless greed and wickedness of some people will never cease to amaze us. We absolutely condemn this murder, as well as any other animal on this planet.

https://www.animanaturalis.org/n/asesinada-la-ultima-jirafa-blanca-del-mundo

And I mean…The death of these two giraffes in March 2020 is a symptom of a much larger phenomenon. Since the mid-1980s, the entire population has decreased by up to 40 percent.

Of the reticulated giraffes, only an estimated 8500 animals live in the wild in Kenya. In Ethiopia and Somalia, only a few hundred are likely to be added.
Giraffes have been the focus of poachers for a number of years. Because of their size and behavior, they are easy prey for illegal hunters. They are shot as bushmeat.

Giraffes are also sought after by charlatan miracle healers who sell the myth that bone marrow and brain are supposed to help fight HIV / AIDS.

The skins and tail hair are also popular.

The last white copy was probably particularly popular because of its very unusual appearance.
And when a rich American, Spaniard, or German has paid $ 50,000 for their murder, every poacher clears the way and makes it easy for the client.

Only the death penalty for poachers might help save the last specimens of endangered wildlife.

My best regards to all, Venus

German trophy hunters-the third in the world rankings

German trophy hunters shoot hundreds of wild animals of endangered species

German big game hunters kill polar bears, lions, or giraffes and bring the skins, teeth, and other parts home as a trophy.

In the past year, 2020, amateur hunters from Germany brought home hundreds of animals listed in the Washington Convention on Endangered Species as trophies.

They imported 543 hunting trophies from Africa, Canada, Argentina, the USA, Namibia, Tanzania, Tajikistan, Russia, and Mongolia, according to a response from the Federal Environment Ministry to a request from Green MP Steffi Lemke.

“It is completely absurd, while more and more animal species are facing extinction, parts of protected animals are still being brought to Germany as hunting trophies – quite legally,” said Lemke, the nature conservation spokeswoman for the Greens.
“The destruction of their habitat, the climate crisis, illegal and also legal trade put entire animal populations under pressure.”

Among the trophies: 164 zebras, 109 baboons, eight elephants, 14 lions, three white rhinos, one polar bear – and 40 giraffes that have just been protected in the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Wildlife (Cites).
According to Cites, endangered animals are also hunted. In 2020, for example, a white rhinoceros from Namibia, four saber antelopes, eleven leopards, and three cheetahs were introduced to Germany.

“In view of the dramatic situation with the loss of species, the federal government must act and stop the practice of hunting trophies for protected species,” demands Lemke.
“The Germans are the greatest big game hunters after the Americans and Spaniards,” said Daniela Freyer from Pro Wildlife.

“It has to do with the country’s hunting tradition, but also with its ability to pay.”

According to the species protection organization Pro Wildlife, the giraffe populations alone shrank by 36 to 40 percent between 1985 and 2015. It is estimated that there are less than 100,000 giraffes across Africa. Habitat loss, poaching, and legal hunting threaten the animals, criticizes Pro Wildlife.

German hunters are among the leaders in trophy hunting after the Americans and Spaniards.

Some European countries have already banned the import of hunting trophies of certain species or are preparing corresponding laws.
The German government, on the other hand, is sticking to the approval of the import of hunting trophies and claims that these would provide a financial incentive to preserve hunted species.

In addition, The German government is currently funding development projects in Africa that “have points of contact with countries and areas with hunting components” with around 140 million euros.
