Well Christmas is just over, so we must pay homage to the three dim fire men of this world – :
The dim men came from different lands known as Australia, Brazil and the United States.
After they had all heard about the raging fires globally for which they were responsible, they all went on their ways, and the rising plumes of smoke from all their government induced fires that they had seen in the east lay en mass ahead of them, until it stopped over the places where all the fires burned and all the animals were dying and becoming extinct – lands with names such as ‘Amazonia’ and ‘Australia’.
The 3 dim men each had in their hands, lots of gifts for the lobbyists of these distant places, of coal, coal, and yet more coal which had been mined under immense pressure from those same lobbyists, and which went completely against what the very wise men eco environmentalists had been saying – fossil fuels contribute massively to global warming; so why mine coal and also cut down trees to farm animals in Amazonia for meat production ?.
As always, the 3 dim men ignored yet again the sayings of the wise men environmentalists and went with those known as ‘political lobbyists’, money people; after all; and as politicians, the 3 dim men are only interested in their own survival and finance; nothing else matters.
That is why the majority of the intelligent world views them as the dim men; destroyers of the planet they are.

WAV Comment – We shed no tears, apart from those for the millions of innocent animals that have been obliterated by the wrongdoings of man (called the Australian Government) once again. It is pretty clear from what has happened that PM Scott Morrison and ‘Environment’ Minister Sussan Ley have just sucked up to destructive industry for years whilst failing to listen to the environmentalists. Now they pay the price. These 2 people should have been the first to be destroyed in the flames; idiots who by their ignoramus attitudes are now responsible for obliterating entire species from the face of the planet. They are the government so called ‘environmentalists’ who have provided extinction for species rather than working to protect them. And still they will probably gripe that it has nothing to do with global warming !
In our opinion; it is a kind of ‘Karma’ time by the animals. Fools like Morrison have supported the live export industry; now the animals have gone, been destroyed and hopefully put the final nail in the coffin of this business. Morrison and Ley have got everything they deserve; their self opiniated importance is now charred and mixing with the burnt out embers of their country.
We have no feelings for them, apart from saying that they ignored the evidence, and now everyone else is paying the price. They must go to a burned out bare patch of land in the bush with nothing to eat or drink – they deserve no better ! – WAV
Bet these clowns are not laughing now !
The ‘Symbol’ of Australia stands amongst the ignorance of the human government
Nearly 500,000,000 animals have been killed in Australia’s wildfires
Almost half a billion animals have been killed in Australia’s raging wildfires with fears entire species may have been wiped out.
Ecologists from the University of Sydney now estimate 480 million mammals, birds and reptiles have been lost since September with the figure likely to continue to soar.
Harrowing pictures and videos have captured kangaroos desperately attempting to flee great walls of flames while rescue teams have been met by the charred bodies of thousands of koalas.
Others reported seeing cockatoos falling dead out of trees and farmers have fled only to return to their burned land and find it littered with the bodies of livestock.
Koalas have been among the hardest hit of Australia’s native animals because they are slow moving and only eat leaves from the eucalyptus tree, which are filled with oil, making them highly flammable. Up to 8000 of the animals — a third of the entire koala population of the NSW mid-north coast — are believed to have been killed in less than four months.
Nature Conservation Council ecologist Mark Graham told the Australian parliament that the fires have burned ‘so hot and so fast’ that there has been ‘significant mortality’ of animals, particularly in trees.
Stand Up for Nature, an alliance of 13 organisations, is calling for an immediate halt on logging of native forests in NSW until the impacts of the catastrophic bushfires on species and habitat are understood. In an open letter, it warned that the impact of the fires is ‘extreme and ongoing’ and the scale of the loss will ‘probably never be known’ but will certainly be in the millions.
The alliance acknowledged a moratorium could have impacts on native forest timber industry workers and have called on the government to support them in the meantime.
Ley – You can cry – down in history now as an ignoramus responsible for species extinction !
Environment Minister Sussan Ley said true animal death figures would not be known until ‘the fires have calmed down and a proper assessment can be made’.
Well here we are again drawing this time to the end of another decade – and despite all the bad issues that we have shown on the site; after all, that is what we exist for; to inform people about the bad stuff; with the hope of change; looking back it has also been a very productive year in 2019 for the welfare of animals.
Looking back; the recent disaster at Midia which took the lives of so many innocent sheep is one issue that I cannot forget. The authorities want us to, but after many years involved with live export; it is an issue very much engrained in my ‘system’; I hate it and will forever fight to stop it; all the way to the grave.
Animal Aid Unlimited in India are an organisation that I have so much respect for. Where do you start with them ?
23,550 calls requesting help for sick or injured animals in Udaipur. Each year more and more people in the city are becoming aware that they can do something when they see an injured animal, by a simple call for help, they are making their first step into becoming an animal protector.
9,384 animals were admitted in Animal Aid’s hospital to receive life-saving medical treatments for serious injuries and illnesses. About 26 new patients were taken in each day. We attempt to cover many of the stories here on WAV; just type in ‘Animal Aid Unlimited’ into the search box to get links to all the past videos.
In addition to the work back at base, AAU also provided 1,092 street treatments for animals who did not require full hospitalization. 1,317 dogs were spayed and neutered once they healed from their injuries. 3,728 incredible volunteers and visitors enriched the lives of animals, many of whom served the animals more than 2 weeks!
AAU also vaccinated 8,266 dogs against rabies both in their hospital and also directly on the street. Finally, 40 animal activists from across India have learned first aid principles and techniques from the intensive AAU First Aid Training Program.
Now that is something to be proud of, and we wish Erika and all the crew there an even better 2020 with their work.
Bloodbath
Also, 2019 can be viewed as the year in England when the Hunting Act of 2004 was given long term protection and we will never legally return to the old days of wild animals being hunted to death by those with nothing more than a ‘bloodbath’ blood lust.
We must never forget Jill and the team at ‘Animals Asia; – it is probably best that we give their link as so many positives are covered. https://www.animalsasia.org/uk/our-work/ – with the young and a new positive view on how animals should be treated, we look forward to the day when bear bile farming and the dog meat trade in the Far East are confined as atrocities carried out in past times – rightly in history books where they belong.
The destruction of the Environment is a massive concern for every one of us. The deaths and suffering that is going on in Australia at this very moment, combined with recent events in Amazonia largely to increase space for cattle grazing at the cost of the indigenous peoples only shows that those in power there have one thing on their mind, and nothing else; and that is called ‘money’.
Circuses and sea life centres are really being shunned by the educated public now; and we very much welcome that. It is fantastic to see that some dolphins are even being returned to purpose built sanctuaries for them; where they can once again return to the type of lives that were cruelly taken from them in the past.
Turning to Serbia; it has been a positive year with regard the fur industry. We personally worked with the team at ‘Respect for Animals’ http://www.respectforanimals.org/ in England, and with Slavica and Serbian activists, supplying lots of information and undertaking lots of research which led to getting the fur farming ban introduced at the start of 2019; saving tens of thousands of Chinchilla in the process – http://www.respectforanimals.org/serbian-fur-farming-ban-comes-into-force/
Chinchilla – Saved by the Ban.
In the United States, there have been some really positive moves; and we thank all our US visitors for the work they have done behind the scenes. California has become the first US state to ban the sale of animal fur products http://www.respectforanimals.org/history-made-as-california-fur-ban-becomes-law/ The new legislation, AB44, bans the manufacture and sale of new fur products across the state and is already considered to be the most ground-breaking moment for the anti-fur campaign for many years. We hope and look forward to other states following the example of California.
Staying in the USA, we have seen a lot of positives with regard ‘killing contests’ – where animals are deliberately killed for prizes etc. In recent months we have seen bans introduced in Massachusetts, Arizona, as well as Coyote killing contests in New Mexico.
Food has been a big issue in America; with many major food chains now providing plant based options as part of the menu. This is great news and reflects the huge amount of people that have decided to change to a plant based diet, thus contributing to cutting down on global warming which is an intrinsic part of the meat production system; and which is very much responsible for some of the huge fires that we have witnessed this year in Amazonia due to forest clearance to make more grazing area for meat cattle. Many of America’s largest food chains have now moved to producing Vegan foods for consumers as part of their range – https://worldanimalsvoice.com/2019/03/20/usa-americas-biggest-food-companies-are-moving-to-meatless/ .
We thank Stacey at Our Compass https://our-compass.org/ for working with us, and giving links to many issues and videos associated with a meat free Vegan diet. Thanks Stacey; and keep up the great work !
We also say “thank” to our companion commentator Slavica; under the name “eparslavicaepar”, (we know who she is) for the faithful accompaniment (almost) for each article. Comments are a strengthening of our work, even if they are critical!
Whizzing over to South Korea, we wants to give thanks and credit to Korean Dogs.org https://koreandogs.org/ for all their tireless work aimed at stopping the live dog and cat meat trade. On the site given, you can find endless ways to give your support to their work, and we encourage you strongly to do that.
Back here in England, we need to highlight the huge amount of work being done by CIWF all over the world on so many different farm animal issues; https://www.ciwf.org.uk/our-campaigns/ from the ban the cages campaign in Europe, through to helping pig producers in China to be more animal welfare considerate and change (improve) their methods of farm animal husbandry.
All in all; we have just skimmed the surface of what has been a very positive and productive year (in 2019) aiming at helping animals across the world. We cannot cover everything as it would take far too long, but we know that you, our friends and supporters are able to investigate a lot more about specific issues that may be of concern to you.
To try and give you a little assistance, we have provided on our site an A to Z listing of major animal welfare organisations, complete with their web site links, in order that you can hopefully find out a bit more much easier. Here is the link to this section:
… and for me (Mark), I especially wish to give support to free Tibet from the current rule of China which is covered so fantastically by London based ‘Free Tibet’ – https://www.freetibet.org/
Be a voice and fight the fight – results are never immediate and campaigns can take a long time to win – just look at the League Against Cruel Sports (London) – formed in 1924; but it was not until 2004 that they managed to get Hunting with dogs stopped for wild animals – https://www.league.org.uk/about-us
You Can Run, But You Cannot Hide !
Happy New Year for 2020 – Regards Mark and Venus xx.
In memory of 2 great campaigners against live export: Sadly Missed.
Think it is about time you kicked out this utter tosser government and replaced it with something that takes the environment seriously.
Scott Morrison will go down in history as the man who ignored all the warnings whilst supporting the fossil fuel industry, and taking a holiday at the same time during a national crisis – in charge ? – doubt it !.
Australians are really now paying the price; not to mention the millions of animals that have died in the heat already – the start of many more ?
So Australia – do something about this arse government you have ! – ike get rid of them.
23,000 giant fruit bats — about a third of the species — dropped dead from heat stress in Queensland and New South Wales in April. 10,000 black flying foxes, a different species, also died. Bodies plopped into backyard gardens and swimming pools.
Help native animals survive a scorching Aussie summer.
We are on track for a temperature rise of over 3°C.
This would bring mass extinctions & large parts of the planet would be uninhabitable. We need to supercharge our #ClimateAction ambition: http://bit.ly/2KU0kPb
If only you have met with experts when they asked & if you could put aside your arrogance for better of this country maybe some of these tragedies could have been avoided, losses minimised. Your way is negligent to our people & country.
Scott Morrison and the Coalition are fiddling as Australia burns
WAV Comment – we want to send our thanks to the good citizens of Australia who are doing everything they can to help rescue and save the wonderful Koala. We are watching with interest from around the world.
We also ask the question why the Australian government never seems to last for more than about 6 months ? – but then we read that principals in government, namely MR Morrison and Mr Elliott are jetting off to far flung corners of the globe for their holidays !! – is this the way to deal with a national crisis in your country; by going on holiday ? – no wonder there is no respect from overseas for these self opinionated, self interested dimwits.
Christ, with the ignorance of live export issues and the denial of global warming; one has to question what the Australian government is about. We know as do many but we refrain from publishing the words, as they may cause offence to the government.
A sad government led by those with self interests;
Thousands of koalas feared dead as massive Australian wildfires destroy habitat
The mid-north coast of New South Wales was home to up to 28,000 koalas, but wildfires in the area in recent months have significantly reduced their population.
Koalas are native to Australia and are one of the country’s most beloved animals, but they have been under threat due to a loss of habitat.
There have been several incidents where desperate koalas have sought help from humans.
South Australian cyclist Anna Heusler was cycling with friends in the countryside outside Adelaide on December 27 when she saw a koala and let it drink from her water bottle.
Environment minister Sussan Ley said: “Up to 30% of their habitat has been destroyed.
“We’ll know more when the fires are calmed down and a proper assessment can be made.”
Images shared of koalas drinking water after being rescued from the wildfires have gone viral on social media in recent days.
Ms Ley said: “I get mail from all around the world from people absolutely moved and amazed by our wildlife volunteer response and also by the habits of these curious creatures.”
Fire danger in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory was upgraded to severe on Saturday, as high temperatures built up over the region.
Sydney’s western suburbs reached 41C, while the inner city is expected to hit 31C on Sunday before reaching 35C on Tuesday.
Two wildfires in New South Wales are at the “watch and act” level issued by fire services.
Canberra, Australia’s capital, peaked at 38C on Saturday, with oppressive temperatures forecast for the next seven days.
Meanwhile, New South Wales emergency services minister David Elliott has gone on an overseas family holiday – which comes in the wake of Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s much-criticised recent trip to Hawaii.
Mr Morrison, who apologised for going away, eventually cut short his holiday and returned to Sydney last weekend.
Mr Elliott said he will be briefed daily while overseas, and he added: “If the bushfire situation should demand it, I will return home without hesitation.”
When a picture says more than just a thousand Words, then is this one 💖!
The kind of treatment that EVERY animal deserves.💚
Did you know that Botswana, Zimbabwe and Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) have legalized trade in ivory and animal skins? In many African countries, the elephant is almost extinct.
But there is a tribe in northern Kenya who want to prevent this.
Years ago, these warriors were afraid of elephants. But now they even have an orphanage for little elephant babies.
Innovative Samburu communities in northern Kenya have come together to save orphaned elephants.
The region is home to Turkana, Rendille, Borana and Somali as well as the Samburu – ethnic groups that once fought for the country and its resources until death.
Now they are working together to strengthen their communities and protect the estimated 6,000 elephants that live with them!
The elephant orphanage Reteti, nestled in the gorge next to a crescent-shaped mountain range, is located in a 975,000 hectare thorny bush in northern Kenya and is known as the Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust – part of the ancestral home of the Samburu.
It was founded in 2016 by the Samburu. Funding comes from Conservation International, San Diego Zoo Global and Tusk UK. The Kenya Wildlife Service and the Northern Rangelands Trust provide ongoing support.
The 6,000 elephants in this part of Kenya form the second largest population in the country.
Black rhinos are starting to return – a small, carefully guarded population that has been reintroduced to the Sera Conservancy, adjacent to Namunyak, from parks and reserves across Kenya.
Warthog, impala, little kudu, buffalo, leopard, cheetah and reticulated giraffe are also on the rise.
This is Shaba, almost two years old today, the acting matriarch of Reteti’s younger orphans, and she teaches them how to look for food in the wild.
Under the supervision of caregivers, she leads her small herd into the bush outside the protected area, pulls leaves, tastes bark, presses down small trees and takes mud baths (Photo: Ami Vitale, National Geographic)
What happens here in Reteti without much fuss is nothing less than the beginning of a transformation in the way Samburu relate to wild animals that they have long feared.
This oasis, where orphans grow up and learn to be wild so that they can one day return to their herds, is as much about people as it is about elephants.
Yes, they still exist those who protect elephants.
And I mean...Projects like this fill us with joy. Whenever possible, we want to finally see these animals in freedom and joy.
Our great lesson in animal welfare is collaboration and continuity. To be successful, we need to invest in long-term, trustworthy relationships. If an initiative is not strengthened by many groups, the work will not be successful.
Uganda sits on vast oil resources, and three companies are ready to drill – in of all places, Murchison Falls National Park. A Chinese construction company is already expanding a road that cuts through the protected area.
Speak out against this disaster in the making!
Murchison Falls National Park is one of Africa’s jewels. Every year, thousands of nature lovers come from all over the world to enjoy the spectacle of the Victoria Nile thundering down the cliffs of a narrow gorge.
This could soon be history if France’s TOTAL, UK-based Tullow Oil and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) were to drill 419 wells in the region and extract 200,000 barrels a day. They would also build a refinery, an industrial zone and a 1,445-kilometer pipeline-the longest in the world-to the harbor of Tanga in Tanzania.
Tullow confirmed the commercial viability of the oil blocks in 2006 but a final investment decision has been delayed multiple times.
In early 2019, China Communications Construction Company(CCCC) started expanding a dirt track through Murchison Falls National Park used mainly by safari tourists, widening and paving it for heavy vehicles. The road expansion will fragment the national park and cut off wildlife corridors. Environmental activists are convinced that the only possible purpose for the road is to serve the oil industry.
CCCC is one of the biggest construction companies globally. Its projects are textbook examples of how China initiates, finances and realizes major undertakings that run roughshod over the local environment in numerous countries.
Resistance is growing in Uganda: environmentalists and civil society are calling on the government to protect the environment and the livelihoods of ordinary Ugandans from the fossil-fuel industry.
International pressure can be successful, as the cancelation of a hydroelectric dam project close to Murchison Falls has shown. Now our aim is clear: Save the Murchison Falls region – tell Uganda to keep the oil in the ground!
Murchison Falls National Park was established in 1952 and covers an area of 3,878 square kilometers. Scientists have counted 144 mammal, 51 reptile and 755 plant species in the region’s savanna ecosystems, which also includes the Budongo, Bugoma and Wambabya protected areas.
Oil in Murchison Falls National Park – the companies involved
The oil reserves are estimated at 6.5 billion barrels. Between 2011 and 2012, TOTAL and CNOOC each acquired a 33-percent share from the stakeholder, UK-based Tullow Oil.
A number of nature conservation and human rights organizations are already fighting against TOTAL, complaining of land grabbing, the loss of the livelihood of many local people and impoverishment. Les Amis de la Terre France and others are filing a lawsuit against the oil company in Paris, referring to a law on corporate responsibility that also applies to foreign subsidiaries.
Tullow Oil, based in London, which bills itself as “Africa’s leading independent oil company”, is active in 15 countries in Africa, South America and off Jamaica. Its main business activity is the exploration of new oil and gas fields on land and offshore.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) is the third largest oil company in the People’s Republic of China. It mainly operates in Africa, Iran and more recently in Europe and North America. The company is 70 percent state-owned.
China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) is one of the largest construction groups in the world. In Uganda, it built the 40-kilometer expressway between Entebbe Airport and the capital city, Kampala.
The Export Import Bank of China is involved in the destruction of the Murchison Falls National Park as a financier. The cost for the construction of three “national oil roads” has been estimated at around €485 million, of which 85 percent (€410 million) will be covered by a loan. In addition to CCCC, two other Chinese companies are involved.
According to environmentalists, the start of construction by CCCC is illegal. For example, it is unclear whether an environmental impact assessment has been carried out. During two public hearings on the Tilenga project, it became apparent that numerous regulations had been violated.
Environmentalists compare the construction of roads to opening a Pandora’s box of environmental evils and draw parallels to the spread of cancer cells. Satellite images show how, after a road is opened between population centers, numerous side roads soon branch off into the countryside in a herringbone pattern. These are both official and unofficial roads, some of which are built by logging companies.
Roads open previously inaccessible areas to agriculture (farms, plantations, cattle feedlots), logging, mining, poaching and settlement. Many of the threats to rainforests are associated with the construction of roads. In the tropics, 95 percent of all deforestation takes place within five kilometers of the nearest road.
Uganda already confirmed the existence of huge commercially usable oil reserves around Lake Albert along the western border in 2006.
Tullow Oil, listed on the British stock exchange in France, and the China National Offshore Oil Corporation jointly control three oil blocks in Lake Albert, a huge stretch of water on the Ugandan border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
That would be enough to make Uganda an important player in the African oil industry. At least that is the hope of the Ugandan government wich says: “The discussions on ton the various issues are ongoing and we hope to reach an agreement very soon.”
But 13 years after the first discoveries were made, Total said it was stopping technical work on the oilfield and pipeline project following the collapse of a deal to buy additional equity from Tullow and the failure of talks with the Ugandan government to agree legal terms for the investment.
Now the pressure of the public has to be intensified so that this project, which has been postponed several times, does not arise.
Because from our experience in exploiting this continent by white collar criminals from abroad, we know, that the “man on the street” in Uganda – as happened in Nigeria and Angola – will be exploited and bled.
Have been preparing a super big feast for the wild birds today – they always do well but even more today !
Fresh bread, crushed biscuits etc
Sunflower Hearts and crushed nuts
Whole Peanuts for the feeder – never leave whole nuts on the ground – always use feeders
Seed Mix
Fat Balls for the feeders
Had about 6 young, wild female pheasants visit recently – they often do;
… and with dozens of blue tits, great tits and long tailed; with both Green and Spotted woodpeckers in the garden, it is great to see wild LIFE on a day which involves so much recent additional killing.
Above – Blue Tit
Above – Great Tit

Just had super Vegan dinner – no death or killing to celebrate in this house.
Hoping all your dreams for the future become reality.
Winter is when female polar bears come ashore to give birth to cubs in deep snow drifts.
It’s also when oil and gas companies take advantage of frozen tundra to move heavy vehicles and amp up their prospecting for oil.
Thanks to Trump, the fossil fuel industry could now plunder 18 million more acres of Alaska, devastating the habitat of polar bears, brown bears, caribou and millions of migratory birds.
The extinction emergency is here and we’re losing up to 150 species a day.
This is why Trump’s move to expand drilling in Alaska is so repugnant. It could lead to more than a billion tons of carbon dioxide pollution, worsening the climate crisis and driving more species to the brink.
We need to keep oil in the ground — not decimate critical habitat so we can dirty the air and cook the planet with more fossil fuel pollution.
Endangered species are counting on us. But this administration is pushing ahead on plans to drill the vanishing Arctic habitat that is home to species like polar bears and ice seals.
It’s part of the ruthless attack on the wild that we’ve seen from Trump all year long.
He and his minions have already removed protections from gray wolves and gutted the Endangered Species Act. Now they’re gunning for the Arctic.
This is a defining moment in our fight to save life on Earth. We’re in court right now to keep the Endangered Species Act in place as a crucial lifeline for polar bears and all species threatened with extinction. If we’re going to win, we need you with us.
