A Message From Venus and Mark (Founders – WAV / SAV).

Thank you 3

To all our readers, friends, animal lovers

A year is finishing, a new one is coming.

For all of us who see it as a mission to fight for the rights of animals and to give them a better world, there is always a balance sheet exclusively dealing with this mission.

What have we achieved in this direction is often a difficult decision for us personally, how much do we write that is good, how much do we write that is sad.

We all know that we are always faced with a perfectly equipped system of violence, lobbying and exploitation that makes our struggle ever more difficult.

Witnessing the suffering of any animal(s); through video, photos or other media routes is never an easy one for any of us.  It takes its toll; but we have to be strong against an often stronger opposition of abusers, bureaucrats and politicians.

Through our blog sites, ‘Serbian Animals Voice’ https://serbiananimalsvoice.com/  and ‘World Animals Voice’  https://worldanimalsvoice.com/ , we aim to cover as many issues as we can in often, the harshest of blogs – with us, what you see is what you get; cruelty is cruelty and we will never disguise the daily system of abuse and suffering that many animals have to endure the world over.

On the other hand, we know that only if we all fight together against this ‘system’ of abuse, do we then have any chance of winning campaigns.

Illustration with joyful piggy who says - thank you. For design of funny avatars, posters and cards. Cute animal in vector

Looking back, we realize that all the best this year has already been achieved by many using this very same approach, because we participated in solidarity and cooperation in actions, that wanted to abolish the suffering and slavery of animals.

So we have to continue to move forward into next year: active, solidary, united!

Also in the New Year (of 2019) we will do a part in this fight with our two blogs. With information, education, criticism, and facts !

Stay true to us, we all remain faithful to the animals, and faithful to you, our dear campaigner friends !

What one alone does not achieve, many unite to create victories together.  Be part of our team uniting in achieving victories !.

In this Sense and with this hope, we wish you all a healthy and happy new year of fighting for the voiceless in 2019.

Best wishes – Venus and Mark.

UK: Boxing Day (26/12) Clashes Between Hunt Supporters and the ‘Antis’ as Always. Hunting Is In ‘Terminal Decline’.

UNKG0001

The UK is fairly well known for its opposition to hunting.

hunt 1

Above – The ‘Traditional’ (how very British) picture hunts love to portray.

But on Boxing Day each year, December 26th; hunts across the country meet and parade themselves through towns and villages.  This is perfectly legal; but they are always met by hunts sabs and the general public who oppose hunting.

26/12/18 was no exception; with clashes between hunt supporters and ‘antis’ taking place all over the country.

Hunt sab attack

Above – Reality – A female anti hunt protester is hit in the face by a pro hunt supporter.

Fox hunting is illegal in England, Scotland and Wales, but evidence suggests that hunts are regularly breaking the law.

Fox hunting was banned by the Hunting Act 2004 in England and Wales, and the Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Act 2002 in Scotland. But while these were both welcome and hard-fought pieces of legislation, overwhelming evidence suggests that both are being ignored or exploited by hunts on a regular basis.

Latest – a Dorset pub which supports hunting even attempted to stop sabs and vegans from entering to get a drink at the local.

Seems like the brewery chain have now suspended the manager for being so biased.

Japan: Boycott Everything About Them.

Japan says it is to restart commercial whaling in July in a move that is likely to draw international criticism.

It said it would withdraw from the International Whaling Commission (IWC), the body tasked with whale conservation.

Commercial whaling was banned by the IWC in 1986 after some species were driven almost to extinction.

Officials in Japan, an IWC member since 1951, say eating whales is part of the country’s culture.

For many years Japan has hunted whales for what it calls “scientific research” and to sell the meat, a programme widely criticised by conservationists.

The monkey trade mafia

Affe gefangen für Handel jpg

Little is reported about the trade in monkeys. In contrast to the thriving ivory shops. But this illegal trade is a terrible global criminal enterprise that kills and sells billions of monkeys of all kinds, or kills them when they’re no longer for sale. Some are the most endangered, intelligent and sensitive animals on this earth.

The illegal trade in monkeys is a billion dollar business. A gorilla baby can cost up to $ 250,000. High in demand as pets in affluent homes or as performers in commercial zoos, baby chimpanzees have a cost of $ 12,500. Who the buyers are is just as opaque as in trading with people. They give them alcohol and drugs, they are abused, and when they are no longer needed, they are thrown away again.

Affen in Müllkontainer

The monkeys are also offered in the social networks. On an Instagram account, a user offered baby chimpanzees and orangutans in children’s clothing, 2 babies, $ 7,500 each for the” Special Introductory Price”.

Illegal trade in animals ranks third in the international drugs and arms trade. It makes possible also the net :. With a mouse click, people can buy any kind of animals. On a website called exoticanimalsforsale.net, a just a week old male capuchin monkey is listed at $ 7,800; A squirrel monkey is listed for $ 9000 and a Java Macaque for $ 4000.

The animals are in high demand in the Gulf States, Southeast Asia and China. Buyers are willing to pay high prices and additional fees to bypass international controls. And while they are well cared for at a young age, chimpanzees soon become too strong and potentially violent to be kept in a household.

Gefesselter Affe_n

Malnourished and frightened monkeys were discovered in covert crates at border controls, whether in France, Nepal, Thailand, Kuwait or the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They are confiscated all over the world. But these are only a few. Others end up living in a private zoo, far from home and their natural way of life.

Young apes are initially traumatized when they are caught in Africa and then again by being deported to Asia (often without adequate nutrition or care). They are then housed in zoos, circuses and zoos under supposedly appalling conditions – without proper attention, affection and the company of other monkeys, something that is required for the healthy development of these social species. Strict training regimes only aggravate the trauma, mongabay reports.

kleiner Affe, in Kettenn

Daniel Stiles leads the project to end the monkey slavery (PEGAS) and examined the monkey trade for four years. Since 2013, he has made several trips to the Middle East, China and Southeast Asia, where he witnessed an increase in circus shows with chimpanzees and orangutans.

“The way they do business,” he said about monkey traders, “makes the mafia look like amateurs.” Trade in these animals is booming. To catch small monkeys, the mother has to be killed. If the father is there too, they kill him too. For every monkey smuggled, more could have been killed, because most species live in groups. It is not uncommon for poachers to wipe out entire families just to get a single cub. Little monkey babies are easier to smuggle.

Daniel Stiles is now a “monkey detective” in Kenya and has spent weeks looking for pictures of gorillas, chimpanzees and orangutans on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. He hoped to destroy an illegal global trade that has captured or killed tens of thousands of great apes and has brought some endangered species to the brink of extinction.

My comment: The biggest natural disaster is the human being!

It is not enough that we take the habitat of the monkeys through deforestation and slash-and-burn, no!
They are also brutally trapped by the Monkey Mafia to sell them as merchandise to criminals rich or zoo owners ..
Every day we get the proof that evolution has not brought anything positive.

UK: A Christmas Gift From the UK To The Elephants of the World – Dealing In Ivory Is Now A Criminal Offence !

UK ivory ban becoming law is the best Christmas gift for the world’s threatened elephants!

20th December, 2018

Today, we and our nine campaign partnersPDF are delighted to see the UK Government’s Ivory Bill receive Royal Assent to become law.

In future, most ivory sales in, to and from the UK will be treated as criminal offences.

Mary Rice, our Executive Director, said: “Following on the heels of China’s closure of its own domestic ivory market at the start of the year, this is the best Christmas present the UK could have given the world’s threatened elephant populations in Africa and Asia.

“The Ivory Bill becoming law is an important move which recognises the need to take firm action to protect elephant populations from poaching and ivory trafficking.

After years of sustained campaigning, we welcome the news and hope that countries which still have legal domestic ivory markets will see this as the standard to aspire to.”

USA (Arizona): Board of Supervisors (AZ) Passes Proclamation Condemning Wildlife Killing Contests.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – December 20, 2018

Yavapai County Board of Supervisors (AZ) Passes Proclamation Condemning Wildlife Killing Contests

Unanimous vote follows Dewey-Humboldt Town Council resolution

YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously yesterday in favor of a proclamation that opposes wildlife killing contests. Arizona citizens belonging to a coalition known as I AM WOLF NATION in partnership with Project Coyote and other wildlife and animal protection organizations have been working to end wildlife killing contests in Yavapai County and other Arizona localities. Yavapai County’s proclamation follows on the heels of a similar Dewey-Humboldt Town Council resolution that passed in November.

Wildlife killing contests are cruel events in which participants compete for fun and prizes by killing the greatest number or the heaviest of the target species. Last week, dozens of coyotes were slaughtered in the Santa Slay Coyote Tournament in Yavapai County and on public lands throughout Arizona. Manufacturers and sellers of firearms, predator-calling devices, and hunting gear were among its sponsors. Though the public at large remains largely unaware of these contests, killing contest social media posts often show photos of participants piling up and posing with the corpses of wildlife they have killed.

Increasing public outrage has led to several national newspapers editorializing against wildlife killing contests. Last week, on December 14, Pulitzer Prize-nominated columnist Linda Valdez wrote in The Arizona Republic: “The wildlife in Arizona belongs to all the people of Arizona. Did anyone ask you how you feel about contests [that] put a dollar value on killing as many wild animals as possible? Is that how you want your wildlife treated?”

Yavapai County’s proclamation recognizes that coyotes and other native carnivores play a key role in maintaining healthy ecosystems—which includes controlling rabbit and rodent populations. Just as importantly, the County proclaims that wildlife killing contests serve no genuine ecological or wildlife management purpose. The County proclamation further acknowledges that wildlife killing contests threaten the safety and well-being of hikers, dog walkers, bird watchers, hunters, horseback riders, and other outdoor enthusiasts who use public lands where killing contests take place.

“We applaud the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors for taking a strong stance against wildlife killing contests in Arizona,” said Matt Francis, Prescott, Arizona resident and a Project Coyote Program Associate. “The Arizona State Legislature should recognize that Arizona citizens will no longer tolerate these barbaric contests and should ban wildlife killing contests statewide.”

“Our team recognizes and appreciates Yavapai County making a statement against killing contests, which are blood sports and should never be compared to hunting as contest proponents try to do,” said Betsy Klein, Sedona, Arizona, resident and co-founder of I AM WOLF NATION™. “As an organization, we recognize the long-standing tradition of hunters and hunting in Arizona. In fact, hunters who practice fair chase principles have called these contests ‘inhumane’ and have openly opposed them, knowing there is a distinct difference between hunting and senseless slaughter.”

Currently, there is a contest slated to take place in Flagstaff in March of 2019 that will target bobcats, coyotes, and foxes.

Coyote killing contest organizers often justify the slaughter by claiming that by reducing the coyote population they are helping to reduce conflicts with coyotes. “There is no documented scientific evidence that coyote killing contests permanently reduce coyote abundance, increase populations of deer or other game species, or prevent conflicts between predators, humans and livestock,” said Dave Parsons, MS, retired career wildlife biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, former hunter, and Project Coyote Science Advisory Board Member. “Wildlife killing contests are symptomatic of a broader problem of misguided wildlife governance by state wildlife agencies that fail to recognize and value the crucial ecological roles of native predators.”

The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) itself recognizes that killing coyotes doesn’t reduce their numbers, stating on their website: “Removing coyotes from one area generally results in other coyotes moving in from surrounding areas and breeding faster.” There is no way to know the effect that wildlife killing contests have on coyote populations in Arizona because AZGFD does not monitor the contests or track the number of coyotes killed in these events.

U.S. Congressman Raúl Grijalva of the 3rd Congressional District of Arizona, who serves on the House Committee on Natural Resources, recently weighed in on the issue: “Do you want a coyote-killing contest on your public lands this Saturday? Neither do we. Neither do Arizona locals in the threatened area. Let people know this is happening.”

Earlier this year, the city council of Albuquerque, New Mexico, unanimously passed a resolution calling for a state legislative ban on killing contests. Tucson and Pima County have passed similar resolutions in recent years. Vermont and California outlawed killing contests in 2018 and 2014, respectively. The National Coalition to End Wildlife Killing Contests, a growing alliance of more than 30 state and national wildlife and animal protection groups, along with local citizens, will pursue similar policy changes at the state and local levels across the nation in 2019.

How can we make the killing more sustainable?

In Germany, the most read weekly magazine is “Der Spiegel”. Earlier, and as long as the newspaper was under the leadership of its founder, Rudolf Augstein, was a left-liberal news magazine with a very good level.

Today “Der Spiegel” has come down to the level of Infotainment.

On Monday, 17.12.2018  the following article has been published as a “main topic”. Title: “No meat is not a solution either”! Obviously, the subject was difficult to handle, so the article is written by 3 (!!) journalists!

Raw meat (chicken breast, pork chop, and beef steak)Foto: der Spiegel

The item

The journalists beginn with the following question: “Have you already ordered the holiday roast? No fear! nobody wants to ruin it for you. We are not vegetarians ourselves. But we have to ask ourselves the question: how can we produce meat more sustainably?” “We all have to ask ourselves this question”.

The reader should not have the opportunity to see that this is not the question! Not for vegans and even for vegetarians the burning question is how can we reduce the meat consumption so, that in the future, the meat eaters will be in the minority of the population.

Der Spiegel continues: “More and more people are eating more and more meat. Over the past 50 years, the world’s population has doubled – and world meat production has even tripled. By 2050, meat consumption could once again grow by 85 percent, warns the UN!”

Here begins the central idea of the article to work manipulatively. If statistics give us only bleak predictions anyway, then the posted question: how can we produce meat more sustainably? “appears as an urgent need! And so the question is not meat or not meat,
but which meat and why.

Der Spiegel: On the other hand, meat is a pleasure. It has been part of our culture for millennia. And it can also be a valuable protein source. Protein from animal products is often easier for humans to use than vegetable protein. Without these animal proteins, humans might not have been able to evolve to Homo sapiens”!

Subsequently, three Homo sapiens appear on three videos: a master butcher, a policeman and hunter, and a journalist who visits an organic farm with gooses.

der Schlachter-Spiegel

The two of them must have paid an extra sum, because they advertise directly their meat business. The journalist cuts the neck of a (bio) goose with a knife himself and ends the murder act with the sentence: “It was not as bad as I thought, I think the procedure is not bad!”

Why all the embarrassing theater? is the question.
Because the title “No meat is not a solution” brings money and readers. Finally, 98% of the country eat animals.
The title “no meat is a solution” would only have problems with the sale, nobody wants to read that he has to stop eating meat.
The butcher, who runs a business with Alfa-class meat, which he produces by hand. 100 gr. 2 Euro!
The cop, who” plays” hunters in his free time, only sells fresh and healthy bodies from the forest, which he sells in his shop.

der Jäger-spiegelpg
Both are THE solution, for  “der Spiegel”, a solution that favors the higher profits, but at the same time puts the magazine in Boulevard Scala.
Look at the videos on the link! they are unfortunately in German, but the third will understand everyone. It is the visualization of the title that I gave in my article.

Costa Rica: a third world country makes a first-class decision!

Costa Rica is the first Latin American country to ban hunting!

Costa icapng

In 2012, Costa Rica was the first Latin American country to ban hunting by a unanimous decision of the National Congress. It was a step forward on the path to the protection of wildlife – probably the most valuable asset of this country.

tiger-11

Before the ban, hunters from all over the world flocked to Costa Rica to hunt pumas or jaguars, or to catch these wild animals and then sell them on the black market. The country’s population launched an initiative to protect wildlife. The petition with over 177,000 signatures was then submitted to Congress.

The big cats were not the only victims of the insatiable greed of the hunters. Trappers caught parrots and sea turtles and smuggled them out of the country. People demanded $ 5,000 (around € 4,750) per person for hunting trips – and the population was fed up with it.

Jaguar-Marco-Zanferrari-537x3581

More than 4.5 million people live in the country and it is said that Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse nations in the world. Support for the congress also came with the decision to close the zoos in the country and return the animals to their natural habitats.

Those who violate the new hunting law will be punished with up to four months imprisonment and pay a fee of $ 3,000 (around € 2,850).

Article of livingtheorganicdream.com.

My comment: Costa Rica is also one of the countries that have no military.
And we, who are not third world countries, we, who believe that we are the strongest and the best, we, the first world countries, we are not even able to banish the wild animals from the circus, to ban the hobby hunt, let alone close the animal’s open air prisons, the zoos.

My best regards, Venus
