And finally I leave with a few pictures of my own dog ‘Golda’ – Regards Mark.

India – Animal Aid Unlimited.

I am taking you to all the past posts covered on this site relating to good friends at ‘Animal Aid Unlimited’ who are based in India. They undertake some absolutely amazing rescues of animals which you would often think never have a chance of surviving.

Each post is dated by month and year, and each post usually incudes 3 videos covering both the rescues and nursing back to health of individual animals, which often takes a long time, by all the amazing crew and volunteers at AAU.

I really hope that you will visit them via this link – https://worldanimalsvoice.com/?s=animal+aid+unlimited and then visit each month to watch some amazing rescue and recovery stories.

They have a special place in my heart as they do some wonderful work doing health check, feeding and regular monitoring of the many Stray Dogs in their area, as well as sterilisation to try and keep stray numbers under some control.

For example, in July this year alone they sterilised and vaccinated an amazing 435 STREET DOGS.

Enjoy visiting the page of ours which then leads on into monthly AAU rescues and thereafter recoveries.

I am including just two month here – chosen at random, for you to watch their amazing work. Thank you – Mark.

WAV Recent – https://worldanimalsvoice.com/2025/08/14/india-will-human-rights-trump-animal-rights-how-indian-youths-are-seeing-the-stray-dog-crisis/

‘The Delhi Government would need to find up to 2,000 centres to accommodate tens of thousands of community dogs. This judgement seems to lack rational thought and stems from anger’.

In Delhi alone, the stray dog population is estimated to be 1 MILLION animals.

For India in total it is estimated to be somewhere near 52.5 MILLION. To say there is a crisis would be a vast understatement !

Read the very interesting article, which covers the issue from several angles, by clicking on the following:

One has to question the statement given out by the Supreme Court to ‘move all stray dogs to shelters within 8 weeks commencing August 11th’. The court warned of consequences for obstruction and ruled that even sterilised dogs should not be let back on the streets !

Simple statements, which in my personal experience relating to my experiences on the stray dog issue in Serbia, do not hold any water. Does Delhi suddenly have the manpower, finances available, and primarily the shelters available to suddenly wave a wand a rid the city of every stray dog? Where are all the shelters to suddenly provide food and daily care for the influx of 1 Million plus dogs that will be rounded up; and at what cost, not even mentioning the ‘sterilisation’ issue, within an 8 week period. Personally I do not think it will work. Cards on the table, I confess to being no expert at all on Indian stray dog management, but I think I would respond to the questions I ask here with a resounding ‘no’ in each case. I leave my opinions and that of the Supreme Court to each go their own divided ways. I wait with interest to see what the situation will be in 8 weeks time.
