Brutal sterilization of city pigeons in Brussels without anesthesia!
In the capital of the EU Parliament, in the middle of the 21st century animals are sterilized without anesthesia, reminiscent of middle age!
How ice cold and dulled must be “veterinarians” to do something unbelievably painful, even cruel to these peaceful, absolutely defenseless animals! This is also practiced, as can be seen, completely without empathy and routinely coarse, in rows, as if it were any objects.
And without any disinfection, with rubber rings brutally and painfully fixed on feet and wings!
Would it bother these people if the cruelly maltreated pigeons could scream?
Do these “doctors / veterinarians” and those responsible for these barbarians want to explain that the pigeons do not suffer any HELL QUALITIES and are not completely traumatized and painfully paralyzed and frightened after this vile “surgery” ???
It’s unbelievable how much rudeness is drilled and poked around in the deep, open wounds of non-anesthetized animals, and fallopian tubes or whatever are simply pulled out and torn.
The fact that the feathers have already been plucked out in the required place before is the most “harmless” part of this clearly conscious, disgusting animal cruelty in this incredibly painful procedure, which is carried out with the utmost ignorance!
HOW is it possible that such a thing is obviously allowed in Belgium without any contradiction?
WHY will not something be done against the pigeon breeders, who are the perpetrators of the problems, who also demand torments and abnormal “sporting” excellence from the animals?
The so-called “pigeon sport” is one of the most perverted, torturous “sports” that would have to be banned immediately across the EU. What an impudence to call such a thing “sport!! because the breeders themselves, except for money and premiums for this disgusting “sport” to cash, are absolutely unable to do anything else important for the animals.
WHAT happens to the tortured pigeons and their deep open wounds afterwards? It is polluted and is operated under bad hygienic conditions, so that subsequent infections in wounds can not be excluded. In these, the pigeons on the street can die painfully. Are the severely abused and suffering animals simply left to their fate ???
Do they get anything against the murderous pain, at least after this martyrdom? Probably not even that!
In Brussels, as the video shows, there seems to be no animal welfare and animal welfare ethics.
That must not remain uncommented. That can not be without reaction!

My comment: Apparently in Brussels a clear animal cruelty and even in absolutely legal form is operated!
Thousand of pigeons are bred in farms for racing.
Therefore, they are regularly “trained” for the race:
The animals are brought away from their pigeon house for over a thousand kilometers.
Because pigeons have an extremely strong sense of family and are extremely loyal animals, they are desperate to find their way back to their family as soon as possible.
In the pigeons races 50% of the pigeons do not come back. These losses are always factored in for profit!
Those who do not come back to the dovecote die painfully from dehydration, exhaustion, or injury, or are stranded in cities where they lead a sorrowful life and are sterilized by Mengeles without anesthesia.
And all this happens legally, and with the blessing of the Brussel-EU!

Here below is a copy of the EU Commissioner (Andriukaitis) – pictured below; letter to the Romanian Agriculture Minister (and Minster of Rural Development of Romania) Mr Petre Daea on 10/7/19 asking him not to allow the shipment of 70,000 live sheep to the Middle East due to the extreme temperatures, (46 degrees) which we have reported in the last few days.

In his letter the Commissioner continues to give examples of what sections of EU Regulation 1/2005 on the protection of animals during transport, would be breached by the approval of such a consignment.
In full EU Member State compliance with the demands of the senior Commission, Romania basically gave 2 fingers to the Commissioner and proceeded with the shipment anyway; as we have been reporting now for over 2 weeks.
Romania has ignored all the rules and regulations of the EU when it comes to transporting live animals; and yet we (as EU citizens) are supposed to vote for MEP’s and expect that the EU Parliament actually carries some ‘clout’ in Brussels with the Commissions.
This who saga of animal abuse to the extreme just shows that everything relating to the EU and animal welfare amounts to … NOTHING.

The ‘Al Shawaikh’ has now departed Kuwait City and is back at sea, heading for Hamad in Qatar. ETA is currently 3/8.

The current temperature in Kuwait City is 46 Degrees.
The Romanian sheep carrying vessel ‘Al Shuwaikh’ has now arrived at Kuwait city, putting into dock very near to the Ghazaki Road near to other vessels ‘APL Gulf Express’ and ‘Portland II’ .
Therefore it is clear that the vessel will dock today – 1/8/19; and not on the 3/8 as previously scheduled.

The (Australian) Secretary has signed an Order prohibiting sheep exports from 1 June 2019 to 31 August 2019—the first ever prohibition on the export of sheep on animal welfare grounds.
So now it is ok to take EU sheep from Romania at this time ? – does the EU care ? – Read on:
Romanian authorities have flouted Commissioner Andriukaitis’ call on Thursday to the Romanian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development to stop the transport to Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE. In his plea, the Commissioner stressed the impossibility of complying with EU animal welfare legal provisions under the extreme temperatures on the route.
Sources at the Romanian port of Midia say that they are being prevented from approaching the vessel – the Al Shuwaikh, owned by the Kuwaiti company Livestock Transport & Trading (KLTT) – but that they can “hear the animals loud and clear”.
In 2018 animals on KLTT vessels were found baking in their own skins, gasping for air, smothered in faeces and unable to lie down to rest or even reach food or water. During such voyages, heat and humidity combinations reach levels that cause heat stroke, resulting in sheep literally cooking alive in the holds of vessels.
“Despite the intervention of Commissioner Andriukaitis, Petre Daea has turned a deaf ear to the fact that this shipment is likely to breach Art 3 of the EU Regulation (EC) 1/2005 stating that animals shall not be transported in a way likely to cause injury or undue suffering,” says Reineke Hameleers, Director of Eurogroup for Animals. “According to EU legislation on transport, if animal welfare cannot be guaranteed until the final destination, transportation should not take place. We need infringement proceedings right now.”
If they reach their destination alive, the animals will be slaughtered without stunning for the “Festival of Sacrifice” which takes place in August.
WAV Comment – we wait to see the harsh penalties that the EU is going to enforce on Romania for this farce – or will it be just a wrist slap ?
Romanian Sheep Transporter Ship
Update 31/7/19 1600hrs GMT.
The vessel is currently under its own power movement in the Persian Gul; West of Kaki / Khormoj (Iran).
It is doing around 14.5 knots; and we do not expect any more stops before the vessel arrives in Kuwait, which is scheduled for 3/8.
Temperature currently 37 degrees, which is substantially higher than the maximum EU Regulations defined in 1/2005 for transporting animals; which EU member states should comply with when transporting animals. Romania IS a member state of the EU. As we have said for a very long time, EU rules in animal welfare mean absolutely nothing – they are worth less than the paper they are written on.
We would like to thank everyone who has expressed concerns (via our site) about this shipment, which we are pleased to be able to give you regular daily updates on. Once the vessel has completed its arrival in Kuwait and we have the data recorded, then we can move on with our actions. We need to get data on the completion of the shipment; as this then means we have data for the entire transport from Romania; which we consider is a good source of reference.
At the moment, we (WAV) are discussing the best ways to move forward in order that we bring this shipment to the attention of relevant people that matter.
The EU has basically closed down now for Summer holidays – lets hope MEP’s are not going to the Middle East by ship, as we would not want to see them standing in their own faeces and urine for long periods of time in such high temperatures – or would we ? – if this were the case, maybe they would actually do something about it.
Contacting Romanian government departments is currently being considered as another option. More info to come about all this once we have fully tracked the entire shipment of this vessel back to Kuwait and thus have a full recored of the journey.
