In India, a man was killed by his fighting cock.
The 45-year-old was holding the animal in his arms shortly before an illegal cockfight when the bird began to squirm, as the newspaper “India Today” reports.

The man had already tied blades to the claws of his rooster to make it more dangerous to the opposing bird.
But that was his own undoing: The rooster caught the man with the sharp, seven-centimeter-long blade in the groin area.
Gamecock’s owner bled to death on the way to the hospital!!
The incident occurred on February 22nd in the center of the country in Jagital (around 1,400 kilometers south of New Delhi).
According to the current status of the investigation, the rooster is said to have tried to tear itself away.
An approximately three-inch blade is tied to the cocks leg so that they fatally injure the enemy bird. The people around bet on the outcome of the fight.
While trying to break free, the rooster stabbed its owner in the groin with the blade.
Part of the main artery also runs there.

When his owner tried to recapture him, he was fatally wounded.
The 45-year-old started bleeding so badly that he couldn’t even make it to the hospital.
He died of massive blood loss on the way to the clinic.
The rooster, which apparently had no desire to fight with a conspecific, was caught and is now in police custody.
Not because it is to be tried, but because it is an important piece of evidence in the investigation into the death of its owner.
Hahn is now guarded by the police
According to the “New Indian Express”, the fighting cock stayed at the local police station for a day, then was taken to a nearby chicken farm.
An officer was posted to check that the feathered witness was being treated well.
The rooster is to be guarded until the procedure is completed.

The police are now investigating 15 suspects who are said to have organized or participated in the illegal cockfight.
They now face charges of negligent homicide, illegal betting, and illegal cockfighting.
Such events are actually forbidden in India.
In rural areas, however, it happens again and again that this is violated.
And I mean…Yes!! And that’s not a Hollywood invention, it is reality!
Usually, it is planned that the roosters die brutally and in rows during cockfights, this time a slave owner was caught.
A curious situation that happened there…
Many would speak of karma.
But actually, this is called an occupational risk.
Whatever- that brings us in a good mood!
My best regards to all, Venus

Toronto’s most infamous slaughterhouse reopened on March 1st under new management.
Sign our new petition to STOP Tru Harvest!

Ryding Regency Meat Packers was ordered to permanently close due to e-corona contamination in December 2019. But yesterday, with the same general manager, Tru Harvest opened its doors at the same location to kill 83,200 cows and baby calves per year.
The majority of the mother cows are pregnant at the time of slaughter.
Activists from Toronto Pig Save and Toronto Cow Save held joint actions yesterday outside the CFIA offices in Toronto at midday and held a cow vigil outside Tru Harvest Meats from 1:30 pm to 3 pm to protest this egregious atrocity and demand the license for Tru Harvest be withdrawn.

“Slaughterhouses across Canada have been the site of many of the country’s worst COVID-19 outbreaks, and it’s indefensible that the provincial and federal governments would be allowing this business to re-open,” says Jenny McQueen, an activist with Toronto Pig Save.
“Dairy is a leading cause of environmental degradation, as well as being directly linked to negative health outcomes. We’re calling on the federal government to cease subsidies that are going towards propping up a collapsing cow milk industry that kills mother cows once their dairy production slows and ‘veal’ calves under 12 months old who have not been given the chance for life.

We also call on the federal government and the CFIA to withdraw the license for Tru Harvest Meats and shut them down.”

If you live in Toronto, join us for our weekly cow vigils, Tuesday mornings 10 am – 12 pm at St. Helen’s slaughterhouse, 1-3 Glen Scarlett Rd (opposite the proposed site of the new slaughterhouse).
Toronto Pig Save has launched a petition to close down Tru Harvest. Please sign and share widely.
Together we can STOP Tru Harvest!

And I mean…We must not give up, the fight for animal liberation goes on, and not least because some activists have even given their lives for animal rights
Regan Russell, 65, was violently beaten and killed by a pig truck outside Sofina’s Fearmans slaughterhouse on Friday, June 19, 2020.
She was with six other activists at a vigil in Toronto to give water to pigs on one of the hottest days of the year. She attended vigils regularly, and that day Regan was there to oppose Ontario’s “ag-gag” Bill 156, which had been passed two days earlier.
She is gone, but not forgotten, she will always be remembered.

A few days ago is an article in the German newspaper “Tagesspiegel” appeared… “When animal welfare becomes a problem: why this farmer has to kill his pigs …” Against this article is written a very accurate criticism from the blog “Pig Live”.
Here’s the criticism:
“200 new victims? Oh, they’re just pigs …
As is well known, African swine fever (ASF) reached Germany in September 2020.
The outbreak so far affects the east part of our (banana) Republic and the victims are all wild boars.
Until now.

On March 12th In all likelihood, around 200 domestic pigs will have to go under the number of victims.
Animals that are not sick at all.
But: they live with one of the few farmers in this country who keeps pigs free.
That alone is a rarity because Germany packs millions of pigs into the tightest concrete stables.
Stables that would never do justice to the word. Because they are industrial plants.
Behind this is the highly industrialized pork industry, which has a big stone on the board with our politicians.
The outbreak of African swine fever caused exports to collapse.
An important pillar of an industry that has been producing and murdering more and more pigs for years, although pork consumption in Germany has been declining for decades.
In addition, there was congestion caused by Corona.
They could no longer murder the pigs “promptly” and “just in time”. Even more animal suffering and misery were and are the result.

But as long as one can make plenty of money elsewhere, as the Tönnies case shows, killing animals, this important pillar of our society must be maintained.
Pigs for China, the Philippines, and elsewhere. Cheers to our government’s agricultural policy
Farmer Staar’s 200 pigs are actually lucky.
They have at least one life that the 56 million other pigs in Germany would never have had.
Instead of 0.75m² of concrete, they can dig into the real ground and see the sun.
Enjoy the fresh air.

But now they are being murdered on the altar of the necessary pork export for no reason.
Because: Free-range farms are subject to approval in Germany and are subject to absurd regulations.
Which in the end should only ensure one thing: pigs belong in the barn. Basta!!

Dolphin Project can confirm that on March 1, Taiji’s dolphin drive hunts ended for the 2020/21 season. During the entire six-month long hunting season, our collaboration with Life Investigation Agency (LIA), headed up by campaign director Ren Yabuki, ensured that an all-Japanese team was on the ground each day to document the drives and other events that took place. Never before has an all-Japanese team of dedicated activists taken up residence in Taiji, solely to document from a Japanese perspective, the suffering of dolphins that takes place annually at the Cove. As such, our educational outreach throughout Japan has never been greater.
This season, there were a total of 46 red coves (where dolphins were either slaughtered or taken captive) and 135 blue coves (where no dolphins were slaughtered or taken captive) involving six species of dolphins. We estimate 547 dolphins were slaughtered, while 140 were taken captive. Many more may have died as a result of the drives themselves, their numbers never recorded.
Dolphins, including the very young and the very old, were routinely subjected to harassment, suffering and abuse, slaughtered for their meat or taken captive to be exploited in marine parks and aquariums. Entire pods of dolphins were decimated. Several incidental deaths also took place, but thanks to the tireless documentation of the team, we were able to record the hunters’ shameless actions.
Over and over, once driven into the Cove, the team documented the prolonged suffering of dolphins. Even before the mammals are netted into the shallow water, the drives themselves often leave the pod exhausted, with visible injuries. Dolphin trainers work closely alongside dolphin hunters, choosing which mammals will be selected for “life” in captivity, and which will be slaughtered. Marine parks and aquariums often use the terms “conservation” and “education” when describing their captive dolphin displays. The reality however, lies in the bloody waters of this tiny Japanese town: demand for captive entertainment is what fuels Taiji’s drive hunts. Captive dolphin displays, including swim-with-dolphins programs aren’t educational, nor are they entertaining. They are exploitative, and often responsible for the destruction of entire wild dolphin pods.
In three separate incidences, the team also documented whales caught in the offshore fishing nets (called “set nets”). While one whale, a humpback, was released, a minke whale was deliberately drowned after being trapped for 19 days. A third whale, another humpback, was found dead. This isn’t the first time we have seen whales entangled in the sets nets off Taiji, but the number of incidences involving non-targeted species is alarming.
On a positive note, almost four years and ten months after I was deported from Japan, the decision of the Tokyo High Court to revoke the deportation order by the Ministry of Justice is now effective. In a judgement for the case of O’Barry versus Japan, the court ruled in my favor, citing that both my denial of entry (dated January 20, 2016) and deportation (dated February 5, 2016) were without legal merit. The Japanese government attempted to appeal this decision, however, the Supreme Court did not accept the appeal. When it is safe to do so, I am looking forward to visiting Japan.
Compared to the 2019/20 dolphin hunting season, while we cannot know the reason for the decrease in numbers, 37 fewer dolphins were taken captive. Thus, it’s imperative that we continue to keep the pressure on by educating the world why we need to say NO to the dolphin show.
Dolphin Project and Life Investigation Agency are grateful to each of you who lent your voices in support. While the drive season has “technically” ended, permits to hunt pilot whales are valid for several more months.
We hope you will continue to stand by Dolphin Project’s side as we continue our work across the globe, from the United States to the Solomon Islands and to Indonesia, where three dolphins are currently rehabilitating at the Umah Lumba Center in Banyuwedang Bay, West Bali, the first ever permanent dolphin rehabilitation, release and retirement facility for captive dolphins.
All of our groundbreaking work is made possible because of your generous support. Thank you for being a dolphin defender!
Ric O’Barry, Founder/Director of Dolphin Project

Thinking tonight about all those animals in Spain – the live export system REALLY bums me off !

You know the best thing about all this …. Not one animal is murdered to produce any of it – Result !

This emotional footage shows only a couple of minutes of a dangerous rescue mission.
Our ALF member in Turkey, at a secret location, secretly goes into a shelter and rescues these 2 banned breed- dogs at night.
This mother and daughter have been abandoned at a shelter and they would have to spend their lives there due to the laws in Turkey.
Living on cold concrete, eating, sleeping, peeing, and pooping in the same 5-meter square cage.
And one day possibly being secretly put to sleep.
We have taken these girls onto a freedom ride and they are at a safe location now living happily with a family.
These dog breeds are the most abused, sold, pushed into fights, made pregnantly, ears and tails cut off.
WE WILL KEEP FIGHTING FOR PITBULLS, DOGOS, STAFFS, NO DOGS LEFT BEHIND !!!!

We can imagine how happy they both feel in their freedom.
We thank the Turkish activists, on behalf of the mother and her daughter.
My best regards to all, Venus

Latest info about the animals in Cartagena:
the Spanish authorities have decided to euthanise them, probably on Tuesday.
Cruel and senseless acts in a cruel and senseless trade. Animals treated as unwanted cargo and disposed accordingly.

ADDITIONAL:
1/3/21 – We also know now that the ‘Elbeik’ has left Cyprus, and is heading West in the Med Sea. We have a suspicion that this vessel may also be heading back to Spain. More news when we know.

A structure to kill the animals has been set up just off the ramp
I have a feeling that lots of human heads are going to roll after all this – we will do all we can to get the animals some justice from the utter useless human tools involved in this; names will be named and photos posted.

Korean Dogs – the dog meat business.
Read the latest newsletter, complete with many actions, by visiting
Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (CARE) is trying to rescue dogs from two illegal dog farms in Gimpo, South Korea. These dogs were left alone to survive on completely rotten and molded food waste that appears to be at least 10 – 20 days old.
Scattered among the living dogs were the bodies of those that had already died. CARE came with another dog rescue group You Sachun but the farm owner is nowhere to be found. CARE had received an agreement from one of the dog farms that they would relinquish their dogs yesterday, but the second farm is the one with even more dogs trying to survive in even more horrific conditions, and there is no relinquish agreement with that farm owner.
If not rescued soon, it is unknown how long these dogs can survive. This dog farm is no better than a grave for the dogs; these poor animals are so desperate they cried out when they saw the CARE rescuers, begging to be saved. It’s suspected that dogs at some government shelters, instead of being euthanized, were illegally brought here. There are all kinds of dogs here including the dogs who had vocal cord removal surgery.
Despite the request for help, the City of Gimpo and the Gyeonggi-do Special Police never showed up. CARE and You Sachun will use all means possible to save the dogs. They are asking us to file a protest with the city of Gimpo and Gyeonggi-do province to help with the removal of these dogs from this dog farm. There are about 60 dogs to be rescued and CARE and You Sachun will try to rescue all of them, provide medical care, and find homes for them.
