England: Is A Change In Campaigning Now Needed After the Massive EU (ANIT) Failures In Live Animal Transport This Week ? – By Mark (WAV).

I have always had a personal and fairly cynical view on ‘meetings’ – I view them as ‘enforced’ get togethers by people with a certain degree of power who can individually do nothing, but who then get together with others of the same ilk in a meeting team that together, concludes via formal announcements that in reality, nothing can actually be done !.  So sorry folks, the meetings result in no progress !

This approach is exactly my view on the EU system, how it functions internally, puts out endless PR and continually drags its heels by doing nothing effective on issues that it really should be sorting out / fixing as a priority.  Live animal transport is one such issue.

So; I ask the following:

In light of the results of this weeks ANIT meeting at the EU, which drastically missed the chance to do better for EU animals in transport; for how much longer will the ‘normal’ EU citizens have to sit and be muffled, silenced, ignored and bullshitted to by the EU ‘hierarchy’ on the issue of live transport ?  – how many more EU ‘meetings’, PR’s, and welfare advisory groups, combined with their endless investigations and reports are we going to see be established which result in nothing being done by same ? – the evidence of suffering, abuse and cruelty is already there; it lies in the files, videos and archives of the large amounts of welfare organisations dotted across the EU, and has been presented to ‘them in the EU towers’ for years already; so, simple question, why cant they at the EU towers just crawl out of the sand, act and have meetings that bring positive results to the people ?

How much more ‘evidence’, funded by good members of the public, who are supportive of big changes in EU animal welfare rules, needs to be obtained and documented by the EU before the monolith politicians at EU HQ have their endless meetings and actually realise that people are now getting really fed up with them and their negative; non caring, on going monotonous attitudes to sentient beings in transport who are suffering every day on a continual basis ? – people who want real change; and who want it now ! – they are called ‘EU citizens’; they deserve change; and oh, in case you forgot Mr MEP, they vote as well !

This EU ‘head in the sand’ attitude has been more than witnessed this week by the big meeting failures and inactions of people who could and should be making a difference for animals; a change for the better for EU animals in transport.  Believe me, in my own years of fighting this issue, I have come across a lot of EU ‘head in the sand’ Ostrich EU big wigs who think they are just better and know better than the welfare NGO’s who specialise in exposing the business of animal suffering during transport.  The reality is that they, the EU big wigs, actually work for us; and should be reminded strongly to undertake our wishes and our demands.

MEP’s and the powers that be need to be bombarded with mails about the abuses and suffering in live animal transport.  The people in power need to be reminded of their position to implement changes, and importantly, they need to be reminded that they (as MEP’s) are elected; and can be de elected when the next EU elections come round.

MEP national e mail addresses – guidance notes on transport with correct and accurate information on the subject for EU citizens needs could and should be provided by welfare groups.  Individual EU citizen letters and mails need to be pumped out on this subject in their hundreds to their MEP representatives.  Welfare organisations need to step up to the plate and provide ALL this information for the citizens to use in their individual approaches to ‘their’ regional MEP’s.

The cage age saying is ‘time to evolve’ – so I ask why not be given the information needed to contact the EU and demand that we as citizens witness the EU personnel evolve from their time in the sand ? – the days of the heads in the sand species is gone; we demand progress now.

Final food for thought:

The UK was a member state of the EU for decades (01/1973 til 01/2020).  Under EU rules; throughout this time, the UK was not allowed to ban live animal transport.  Fed up with the EU farce, the British public (12/2019) voted in a national election and decided to leave the EU and take back national control.

Approximately one year later after formally leaving the EU in 01/2020, the UK citizens had a consultation by the UK government who supported a ban on the ending of long distance live transport and export of animals for slaughter and further fattening.  This Bill is currently going through Parliament and hopefully will become UK law early in 2022.  The UK has taken back control of its laws and will be banning live animal exports.

See what happens when you challenge the EU ?

After decades of campaigning; we are now near the tunnels end for UK export animals.

It has been worth every day and night of hard work to get here.

Positive things happen outside of EU land – try it.

Regards Mark
