EU: How It Is ‘Enhancing Knowledge’ on Animal Welfare – or is that ‘Dismissing’ ? – EU Meat Mafia Or What !

eu crisis 2

Here we go again – the EU piling out all the words on how wonderful they are; whist the reality is they do little.

So ‘It focuses on enhancing knowledge among the many key agencies, organisations and individuals who are involved in the process’.  For the last 13 years we (an organisation ?) have supplied endless information – text and photographs to the EU informing them that Serbia; a ‘candidate country’ for EU membership; has not been applying its own national laws – ‘the rule of law’; with regard them enforcement of existing national legislation for the welfare of animals.

See a summary of what we have been saying; and our arguments at

Our evidence to the EU:  Serbia – the dog who’s eyes cried pus.

The result ? – the EU has never once been in contact with us re the issue of Serbian animal welfare.

Does the very recent post by Venus – not really sum up the situation –

“The new state minister of economic affairs, Julia Klöckner, makes a good impression at the farmer’s day. Because there, she demands something that many farmers have been longing for: animal rights activists, who secretly film in stables at night, should be punished harder.”

“By law, she wants to penalize the entry into stables. Finally, it is the duty of the veterinarians to ensure animal welfare compliance: But how well does veterinary monitoring work? How consistently are animal abusers punished in agriculture?”

“2015. Although the investigation is still ongoing, these recordings show again animals in too narrow crates, injuries.

In 2017 and 2018, Greenpeace will release these images from the plant. Refunds Advertisement, because of too narrow crates. Again, it is being investigated.

But the procedure, according to the criminal complaint of Greenpeace, has been discontinued”.

Sounds rather pathetic does it not ? – and this is Germany, the powerhouse of the EU.  So what chance of enforcement in Romania, Lithuania; Greece; Spain – and other EU member states.

The reality – Weasel words and documents from the EU that mean nothing.

Another reality – we can say with almost certainty that within the next few years Serbia will be welcomed into the EU club regardless of its application of the rule of law with its own, existing national legislation.  With the UK walking out of the EU because i8t is bummed off with its dappy legislation; the EU is fishing for new member states to come along into the ‘believe all is well with us’ club.  The EU has to show that it rules Europe come what may; enforcement of its own legislation; the rule of law; or not.

Animal rights activists being prosecuted for obtaining images and information of animal cruelty and suffering in member states; is this not an EU ‘Ag Gag’ pathway that we have witnessed over recent years in the USA ? – protect those who abuse whilst hitting the man who obtains the evidence of the cruelty ?

Something is wrong; very wrong; but as Venus says in her post; we have a stable and meat mafia teamwork; and they must not be shown to be doing anything wrongly or incorrectly.

The EU has always been known for its lack of enforcement of animal welfare offences.  And so will it continue. The mafia must remain at the helm whilst the evidence gatherers are hung from the nearest river crossing bridge.

And so it continues – the supply of evidence simply ignored by the EU – do not disrupt the mafia system that we have going and which we enforce for the EU abusers.

“Enhancing knowledge ?” .  Quite the opposite – keeping the abuses hidden from sight.  Knowledge is a dangerous thing you know.

And the EU certainly knows how to keep it safely away from the common EU man and woman.

State and Meat Mafia: Team Work!

deutsche flagge

On September 5, a report was broadcast in Germany TV broadcast “Mainz Report”.

Title: “Torture in the mass animal husbandry is rarely punished”.

Because the report is in German, I translated the most important points of this.
I have to say, it was an exceptionally good report.

The Report:

“They come at night, secretly filming in stables, documenting suffering and death.
It is pictures like these that have been used to uncover animal protection scandals in recent years. But that should be over now.

India: Kalu; the Dog Who Grew A New Face, Has Sadly Passed Away – RIP Kalu.

We’ll never forget you, Kalu…our boy who grew a new face

Kalu’s life unfolded like a miracle when we saw his astonished rescuers carry him from a hole on the outskirts of the city. His entire face was a wound so huge we couldn’t see where it began or ended. Behind the mask of blood and maggots was just cartilage, bone and -we knew-unthinkable pain. But there was still a “who” inside–alive, afraid, and determined to live–our Kalu. He endured, then, months of wound dressings as his face, once lost, seemed to defy science itself as he grew a new face.

Over the next few years, 50 million people felt they came to know him from his rescue video, and among them, thousands wrote to us to learn more about Animal Aid, about animals, and how they could help. Many visitors and volunteers arriving at our gates uttered his name in their first greeting. “I came because of Kalu.” He became a symbol of the magnificent power of medical treatment, optimism and love.

Last week, seemingly in the height of good health, one of our caregivers discovered his lifeless body near to his usual sleeping spot–a wooden bed–at 7 in the morning. He died of an apparent heart attack though he had not been ill a single day after his recovery 3 years ago.

He was beloved especially by Mangi Bai and Kesar Bai who fed, played with and loved him every day. He will be missed too, by his two friends Priya, a playful blind dog, and Kitu, partially sighted and fully rambunctious.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored his care, who marvelled at his vigor and charm, who ached for him in hindsight as they watched the incredible ordeal of his healing. Thank you to our staff and all our friends who loved him. We feel he knew he was surrounded by love every day of his new life, and, perhaps, he knows it still.

India: Latest Rescues From Animal Aid Unlimited – Brilliant !

We are entering an era of protection for all animals, and it is reflected in the adoption of animals from shelters, the spread of veganism, and fashion against fur and leather; it’s heralded by new technologies that reduce the use of animals in experimentation; of animal circuses closing, dog racing made illegal, and street animal rescuers in India learning, growing, and saving animals in greater and greater numbers. Thank you. Because you are part of the plate shifts that are causing a beautiful tidal wave of recognition that animals are “ours” only to cherish.

Terrified and in pain, puppy’s amazing transformation

We got a call to rescue a very sick street puppy. We found him hiding in a plastic bag, and the moment we touched the bag he screamed in pain. He was desperately hungry so we were able to coax him out with biscuits, but every time we tried to touch him he cried out. He had severe mange and a deep wound on his hip that was causing him the shooting pains every time he moved. This dear little boy was suffering so much, his worried eyes never relaxed for even a moment in the first several days after rescue.

But after 6 weeks of medicine and care, meet Jumper today!

Please donate to be the reason someone heals today.

Dog’s near fatal spine injury heals with physio

He hyperventilated and trembled with pain after a hit and run driver left him for dead on the side of the road. But a kind lady spotted him, immediately stopped her car, placed large stones around him to protect him from being hit again, and called us to his rescue. When we brought him back to Animal Aid’s hospital we found that this gentle sweetheart had no fractures, but his spine was injured and he could no longer stand. He was so trusting that even from the very first moment he seemed to know we were trying to help him and he cooperated throughout 6 weeks of physio and bed-rest. Watch how happy this little hero Pintu was with his results!

Profusely bleeding bull saved

A gorgeous street bull was hit by a passing motorcycle that gashed his ankle so deep it cut a vein. The first thing we saw when we found him was the heart-breaking trail of blood that led to him standing so quiet, so vulnerable, alone in the road. He was an enormous boy, and so peaceful throughout 3 weeks of treatment. Because of his size we called him Burly, and everyone who met him fell instantly in love.

Bull calves usually don’t make it to adulthood because they are killed for their meat and leather. In the time you have watched this video, thousands of bulls and cows around the world and in India just like Burly have been killed.

Please go vegan to save precious lives every day. Please donate.

Dog covered in blood from laceration rescued

This magnificent boy might have bled to death or died from a massive infection after a laceration opened a vein on his leg. We raced him to Animal Aid’s hospital for life-saving care, and in just a few weeks he made a beautiful recovery. Meet handsome Almond today.

Please donate so that street animals can get the emergency treatment when they need it.
