On the 19th of August 2018, activists entered a fur farm during a protest in Hjo, Sweden. 5000 mink were freed from their cages.

A heartfelt “THANK YOU” to the activists of Sweden, who released the imprisoned on the cages of their sadistic Farma operators.
The argument that the liberated could be run over by cars or cannot survive in the wild is weak.
Every fate as a free being is better than the brutal, agonizing death of every day and for long time.
And then, there are the direct or collateral financial damage to the farm.
We can not liberate all animals, but we can use practices that the animal-raising industry fears most.
That is the “economic sabotage”.

My best regards to all, Venus

USA: How Pathetic – Moose Drowns In Lake; Driven By Mob To Get ‘Selfies’.

Moose drowns selfies

A lone moose died this week in Vermont, succumbing to exhaustion and drowning in Lake Champlain after crowds of people swarmed to take his photo.

Fish and Wildlife Officer Robert Currier said the moose swam across the lake from New York to South Hero, Vermont. Already weak from the long swim, the animal climbed onto land but was scared due to the groups of people gathering to take photos, heading back into the water.

Currier arrived on the scene moments before the animal drowned.

“It was really rough out there, probably 4 to 5-foot swells and high wind,” said Currier. “It was struggling pretty good at that point. We were waiting for a boat to respond to try to assist it, but before the boat arrived, it had drowned.”

Wildlife officials issued a timely warning, advising people who observe wildlife of any kind to maintain a respectful distance, both for their own safety and that of the animal.

“It is amazing to see these creatures, but they are wild animals and should be left alone/viewed from a distance,” said Sheriff Ray Allen. “If you see a large animal like this, please report to Vermont Fish and Game immediately to avoid this type of situation.”

Endangering wild animals by trying to get a great shot or attempting the ultimate “selfie” is a dangerous and cruel act. Across the globe, people and animals are injured or killed when individuals recklessly attempt to pose with wild animals. Earlier this year, a man in India was mauled to death by a bear while attempting to take a selfie — the bear also suffered injuries during the incident. Last year, a baby dolphin died after being pulled from the ocean for repeated selfies in Argentina.

Although these incidents happened outside the US, our nation is by no means innocent of such cruelty. World Animal Protection (WAP) and Toronto-based organization Grassriots studied the prevalence of wildlife selfies on social media last year and shockingly found that 41% of these inappropriate images were posted from the United States.

“These are people who love animals, they want to have an authentic experience with an animal, and this just isn’t it,” said WAP spokesperson Cassandra Koenen. “Getting too intimate with animals for the purpose of taking photographs is an attitude we need to change.”

Australia: Senators Vote To End Live Exports. But Will The Governments New PM ‘Govern for The People ?’

Australia

BREAKING: live export bill PASSES Senate

That’s right, Mark. Just hours ago, a majority of Australian Senators voted to bring an end to Australia’s cruellest trade. This is a historic day.

In Australia, getting a bill like this passed is a two-step process. We’ve jumped the first hurdle, and there’s now only one thing standing in the way of this bill becoming law — the Morrison government.

To be passed, the government must allow the bill to be brought to a vote in the House of Representatives. The new Morrison Government is refusing to do so. Why? Because they fear that some of their own will ‘cross the floor’ and vote with the Australian Labor Party and crossbench members to pass the bill.

When he became Prime Minister, Scott Morrison promised he would govern for the people. Yet, by preventing this bill from being brought before the parliament, he has blatantly disregarded the will of most Australians who want live export cruelty to end.

This is far from over, Mark. With Labor committing to end the live sheep trade if they win the next federal election, today’s events officially make live export a powerful voting issue.

We’ve taken huge steps forward for animals in this journey. Back in 2011, when another live export bill was voted on in Canberra, only two Members of Parliament — Adam Bandt and Andrew Wilkie — voted in favour of animals. Opposite them in the parliament, casually chatting as if they were deciding on nothing more important than what to have for lunch, sat everyone else. In stark contrast, today — not only was a bill passed in the Senate, we also know that if the government allowed all Members of Parliament a vote on this issue, then those two compassionate politicians would be joined by scores of others.

Because of you, and other caring voices across Australia, it is no longer a matter of if this trade will end, but when. We are so close that it could have been today.

Mark, will you spare one minute now to tell your MP that when it comes to animal cruelty, Australians will not be silenced?

Let’s all remind our new Prime Minister of his promise to govern for the people. An end to live sheep export is only a vote away.

For the animals,

EU-Commission: stop lying the people!

“The Commission is not the solution to the problem, but that is the problem itself … these are desk offenders and agents of the exporters, the meat mafia and these animal exploiters and animal abusers who allow it!” (MEP Stefan Eck)

On 06.09.2018 a conference on live animal transport took place in the European Parliament, organized by the Greens / EFA group. According to the representative of the EU Commission, MEP Stefan Bernhard Eck gave a fire speech, that will be talked about for some time!!.
He angrily called on the Commission’s representative to stop lying to people and concluded his speech with a “declaration of war” to the Commission, European Agriculture Ministers and animal transporters.
“All those involved must be taken care of, because soon other strings will be raised!”
MEP Stefan Eck after the meeting: “The time for negotiation is finally over! We will no longer tolerate this legalized animal cruelty and I will keep my promises! “

EU: How It Is ‘Enhancing Knowledge’ on Animal Welfare – or is that ‘Dismissing’ ? – EU Meat Mafia Or What !

eu crisis 2

Here we go again – the EU piling out all the words on how wonderful they are; whist the reality is they do little.

https://ec.europa.eu/food/animals/welfare/strategy_en

So ‘It focuses on enhancing knowledge among the many key agencies, organisations and individuals who are involved in the process’.  For the last 13 years we (an organisation ?) have supplied endless information – text and photographs to the EU informing them that Serbia; a ‘candidate country’ for EU membership; has not been applying its own national laws – ‘the rule of law’; with regard them enforcement of existing national legislation for the welfare of animals.

shepherd

Our evidence to the EU:  Serbia – the dog who’s eyes cried pus.

The result ? – the EU has never once been in contact with us re the issue of Serbian animal welfare.

Does the very recent post by Venus – https://worldanimalsvoice.com/2018/09/08/state-and-meat-mafia-team-work/ not really sum up the situation –

“The new state minister of economic affairs, Julia Klöckner, makes a good impression at the farmer’s day. Because there, she demands something that many farmers have been longing for: animal rights activists, who secretly film in stables at night, should be punished harder.”

“By law, she wants to penalize the entry into stables. Finally, it is the duty of the veterinarians to ensure animal welfare compliance: But how well does veterinary monitoring work? How consistently are animal abusers punished in agriculture?”

“2015. Although the investigation is still ongoing, these recordings show again animals in too narrow crates, injuries.

In 2017 and 2018, Greenpeace will release these images from the plant. Refunds Advertisement, because of too narrow crates. Again, it is being investigated.

But the procedure, according to the criminal complaint of Greenpeace, has been discontinued”.

Sounds rather pathetic does it not ? – and this is Germany, the powerhouse of the EU.  So what chance of enforcement in Romania, Lithuania; Greece; Spain – and other EU member states.

The reality – Weasel words and documents from the EU that mean nothing.

Another reality – we can say with almost certainty that within the next few years Serbia will be welcomed into the EU club regardless of its application of the rule of law with its own, existing national legislation.  With the UK walking out of the EU because i8t is bummed off with its dappy legislation; the EU is fishing for new member states to come along into the ‘believe all is well with us’ club.  The EU has to show that it rules Europe come what may; enforcement of its own legislation; the rule of law; or not.

Animal rights activists being prosecuted for obtaining images and information of animal cruelty and suffering in member states; is this not an EU ‘Ag Gag’ pathway that we have witnessed over recent years in the USA ? – protect those who abuse whilst hitting the man who obtains the evidence of the cruelty ?

Something is wrong; very wrong; but as Venus says in her post; we have a stable and meat mafia teamwork; and they must not be shown to be doing anything wrongly or incorrectly.

The EU has always been known for its lack of enforcement of animal welfare offences.  And so will it continue. The mafia must remain at the helm whilst the evidence gatherers are hung from the nearest river crossing bridge.

And so it continues – the supply of evidence simply ignored by the EU – do not disrupt the mafia system that we have going and which we enforce for the EU abusers.

“Enhancing knowledge ?” .  Quite the opposite – keeping the abuses hidden from sight.  Knowledge is a dangerous thing you know.

And the EU certainly knows how to keep it safely away from the common EU man and woman.

State and Meat Mafia: Team Work!

deutsche flagge

On September 5, a report was broadcast in Germany TV broadcast “Mainz Report”.

Title: “Torture in the mass animal husbandry is rarely punished”.

Because the report is in German, I translated the most important points of this.
I have to say, it was an exceptionally good report.

The Report:

“They come at night, secretly filming in stables, documenting suffering and death.
It is pictures like these that have been used to uncover animal protection scandals in recent years. But that should be over now.

We’ll never forget you, Kalu…our boy who grew a new face

Kalu’s life unfolded like a miracle when we saw his astonished rescuers carry him from a hole on the outskirts of the city. His entire face was a wound so huge we couldn’t see where it began or ended. Behind the mask of blood and maggots was just cartilage, bone and -we knew-unthinkable pain. But there was still a “who” inside–alive, afraid, and determined to live–our Kalu. He endured, then, months of wound dressings as his face, once lost, seemed to defy science itself as he grew a new face.

Over the next few years, 50 million people felt they came to know him from his rescue video, and among them, thousands wrote to us to learn more about Animal Aid, about animals, and how they could help. Many visitors and volunteers arriving at our gates uttered his name in their first greeting. “I came because of Kalu.” He became a symbol of the magnificent power of medical treatment, optimism and love.

Last week, seemingly in the height of good health, one of our caregivers discovered his lifeless body near to his usual sleeping spot–a wooden bed–at 7 in the morning. He died of an apparent heart attack though he had not been ill a single day after his recovery 3 years ago.

He was beloved especially by Mangi Bai and Kesar Bai who fed, played with and loved him every day. He will be missed too, by his two friends Priya, a playful blind dog, and Kitu, partially sighted and fully rambunctious.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored his care, who marvelled at his vigor and charm, who ached for him in hindsight as they watched the incredible ordeal of his healing. Thank you to our staff and all our friends who loved him. We feel he knew he was surrounded by love every day of his new life, and, perhaps, he knows it still.
